I park on the street. This morning I flipped a u-turn and noticed oil where the truck sat. Got to work and took off the skid plate to find oil coming from the little catch under the oil filter. Filter is tight. Break cleaned area and called dealer. Dealer states that maybe after the cold, the o-ring on the filter may have been pinched and the extream cold caused a leak. Oil level checks out ok. Do I belive the Dealer? Truck has 12,600 on it and never leaked before this last 8 months.

Did you do your last oil change, or did the dealer? If it was the dealership, I'd take it back and have them check it, because it is possible the tech was lazy and didn't oil the new seal first. There's not an o-ring on the new Tundra filters. It's a gasket for all the regular type of filters. The dealership might have been mistaken thinking it's a cartridge filter like the previous generation Tundras.

Back at the dealership. 4,500 on the oil change. I don't care for the way the setup is by the filter. I would like to see the threads and seat area. Will let them do the changes until the freebies are up. Will pay for 5k oil changes though.
