I have a 2018 tundra, went to local shop today Les Schwab. Had the idea of putting in the @Toytec Lifts 2.5 Aluma in, the guy at Les Schwab peaked my interest on the Old Man Emu BP-51’s.
Was going to go with open country R/T tires 33-34” and wanting the method 306 wheels or Fuel Recoil. I was a little off put hearing the price out the door from Schwab for the OME set up with tires and wheels would be near $7k.
was hoping to hear about some other options, closer to a 4-5k range.
Does anyone have any suggestions or areas to look that would more fit my budget?

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
Do you need that level of suspension? Planning on racing your tundie on some washboard? Planning on some serious rockcrawling? Wheels and tires puts you around 2k, so with 2-3k to spare you can get some really nice kits. Fit your suspension to your needs. If you dont need long travel, massive heat dissapation or crazy levels of adjustability, you should be able to find plenty of lift sets to fit your needs at that budget. The adjustability of the BP-51's is awesome, but how often are you really going to use it? I like OME stuff, I'm using their budget version struts myself :D. Here's a quick article I found that might help with your choices Internal vs External Bypass Shock Absorbers – Shock Surplus. Don't see anything wrong with the original set you went in for, toytec aluma 2.5, although the rears seem to be on backorder.

What works for one person, may not work for another.

The type of suspension you get needs to matched to your needs.

Me, I am mostly a pavement pounder, say 80/20. 80% highway/in town vs 20% off road, dirt/gravel/pasture land.

I went with the OME nitrocharger with 612 springs, not changing my bumper or adding a winch, and toytech adjustable shackles. This set up works great for me, has a terrific ride, handles great, and gives the truck a little lift, well about 3 inches.

Cost was right around $1000, assembled fronts, plus I paid my dealer to install, aline and re program the tss system.

Good luck, but that BP-51 kit is a great kit for the money.

Loving my nitrochargers and 612s. Did you put the nitrochargers on the rear RLHOK? Theres is so little information on the nitrochargers, and absolutely 0 reviews that I cant tell whether I can use them on the rear without shackles/dakar leafs. I've still got my bil 5100s back there, but would like to add maybe an inch (depends how much the bambi basher brings down the front end when it finally shows up).

I'm a fan of the bp51s too, but I'm a road warrior also and can't justify that level of suspension. That and they need to move the position of the bypass fitting. Can't remember which youtube overlander I was watching, but when his Tundie bottomed out and the bushing fully compressed, the shock mount cup would hit the bypass fitting on his bp51s and cause a minor leak. Easily fixed by notching the cup, but I'm sure OME will make a revision.

watched the same video last night. Interesting. Will have to see if I can negotiate with the guy at les Schwab tomorrow, otherwise go a different direction. Maybe the aluma 2.5 kit, or build out my own with various pieces.

Read somewhere on here someone basically saying do not get a shock without a reservoir with.

There are just so many options! Shoot was almost easier on the class 10 buggy!!

There's shit tons of excellent monotube options. It really goes back to what type of wheeling you plan on doing. Be aware, most kits are partially sold out and on backorder for months yet. Depending on your needs, you might have to piece-meal a kit together or wait to get a matching set.
