Why not keep running it to see how many more miles it can go?

I remember this one from a while back, the 2uz engine. I think there has been 3 of these in the wild. Don't think I've heard of the UR going that far yet, I'm sure it will or already has.

I never knew it was the 4.7. That is nuts.

There is 2 4.7 and one 5.7 that I am aware of. The 3ur was driven by a gentleman named Blaine Johnson and there’s a YouTube video and he’s on the other forum

No, it was at 666k miles, thus revealing the secret to the million mile Tundra. A deal was made with the devil.

The main reason is those are highway miles as opposed to constant start and stops when most of the wear starts. That and not missing any oil changes.

Those were not easy miles. I don't know about Blaine's story, but the first two 4.7 million milers often carried loads WELL in excess of the door jamb numbers. Vic (the first guy, whose truck is the one Toyota disassembled) said he regularly loaded up the bed with parts weighing 2700 lb and carried them across the country.

Those dudes put more miles on their trucks just grossly overloaded than pretty much everyone on this forum will put on their trucks in total.

no Mods... has new headlights and some dings on the side... just purchased a dent puller and Bilstein 5100's for it..... absolutely love it in the 2 weeks I've owned it...
That motor looked like it wasn't failing by any means.... wow!! Reasonably based on the Milly miles Mark makes it look like another 250k on it.... Cam lobes were in great shape and Pistons had a patina but looked great.... no excessive carbon build up!
    Obvious maintenance was important here....
