This replaced out 2018 Tundra Platinum build and has been the complimentary vehicle to our 2020 TRD Offroad 4Runner.

Photos and build parts are documents on our website and socials, which I'll link for anyone curious.

We've been very impressed with this platform so far, and have really enjoyed that the feeling of our 2018 Tundra seems to be very well represented... we just miss the true growl of the V8.

Our major focus on this build is our AluCabin. We are hoping to set aside enough time in the next one to two years to travel up to Tuktoyaktuk (Tuk) in the Northwest Territories. Everything looks so beautiful out vast up that way, that we're really hoping to be able to achieve this goal while not needing to quit our jobs.

We worked with a team out of Toronto, Ontario named Red Bear Outdoors. They have been an invaluable source of information and just amazing people. We've developed a friendship through our various visits and we can't say enough good things about them.

Here is the list of AluCab products we've used so far and some photos to go along with it.

Cabin - Load Bars - Water Tank - 270 Awning - Shower Cube - Bug Nuts for windows and door - water tank storage bags - table - molle panels - spare wheel bracket.

While it was a fair sized investment, we've really enjoyed the overall quality and ease of use of the Alucab products. We chose for the time being not to build out the interior as we've chosen currently to keep it open and useable for tote storage while allowing us to continue to use the bed for home projects. The water storage and living enhancements like the awning and shower cube, have been perfect complimentary items on our trips last season. Sleeping quarters are typically setup within the minute and entire setup if fully deployed within about 5 mins. Tear down has been just as easy.

CBI armor has been a welcome addition to our Tundra. We went with the full front bumper and recently added their rock sliders. We also have their skid plate set and I replaced the front TRD factory option just to keep it all uniformed. Sold off the OEM to a buddy of mine, so it all came out square. We had Line-X applied to the rock sliders as in the past and on our 4Runner it has held up very well out on the trails and gravel roads. Also fitted the holes with Baja Design lights.

Thanks - The factory pro wheels are BBS Forged, so hard to decide to switch them out. Our previous trucks and our 4Runner we did swap out those factory wheels for Fuels, but so far these have been keepers.

I've got the same bumper and was wondering if the grill light bar is actually usable?

yeah both light bars have been useful. The stock white throws more light to the sides than the front, so that has been still useful when needed and our amber light appears only slightly hampered as we still get plenty of light where we need it.

Our sensors however have been touchy ever since the install. Multiple attempts to tweak them but can't get them to how they should be.

    Hey @Krezz,

Truck is looking dialed! How do you like your current lighting package on the truck? If you where looking to increases lighting in a certain area where would it be?

    Best,
    Bill

    Hey Bill!

We run full BD on both our 4Runner and current Tundra. Also our previous Tundra. I've loved the look and feel of the LP4's and LP6's. LP4's in amber possibly to enhance the ditch places by replacing the Sports there, and the LP6's would be placed along the front bumper. Probably just 2. I wrestle however with function and fashion. I don't want to look too lit up without the need for it, but boy do I love the look of them lol.

Similar planning ideas for our 4Runner as we keep them both looking pretty identical.

Future trips up to Tuk and 2 weeks spent on Newfound Land here in Canada, so we are building our vehicles to keep those trips as enhanced as possible.

Love the build, decided to go with the cbi bumper from your build pictures. Quick question as I am in the process on install. The trd pro grill does not have shutters. I was wondering how you bypassed the two brackets that connect to the shutters and louvers to hold the bottom portion of the grill in place?

Hey there - Thanks for the compliments.

I didn't do the install myself on this build and didn't even realize they had to go through any adjustments.
My installers were a company called Red Bear Outdoors over here in Mississauga Ontario.

Not sure where you're located to give them a call, or you may need to contact CBI directly sorry.
