I have an 05 Tundra and the map lights in the overhead console are broken. (it appears the small cylinders in the light mechanism are broken or missing. My truck does not have a sunroof. Can I replace the overhead console from a donor truck that has a sunroof? I know the two toggle switches for the sunroof won't work but that's OK. I just want my map lights to work.

You cannot assuming you don't have a DC truck. They're different sizes and use a different physical connector to power/ground on the DC trucks that have a sunroof and the overhead with temperature output. At minimum, you'd need to modify your headliner to fit the DC sunroof console in, but you'd probably need to do some electrical work to make it fully functional.

Ask me how I know: I have an AC truck. I bought the DC "roof wire harness" because I wanted the same thing. I'll let that discontinued roof harness go for $150 if you want to go this route, update your wiring, and find a way to retrofit a DC overhead into your truck. (note: your profile doesn't say whether you have an AC or DC or RC truck)

Ya I wanted to do something similar so I could have an actual sunglasses case in my 2003 AC. You have to cut into the roof panel and there isn't really any extra room for the console. I ended up returning the console I bought from ebay.
