I searched this group for an OVRLND Camper thread, but only came up with individual builds. Hopefully this can become a collective for OVRLND Camper enthusiasts.
Here’s a few photos of ours. After a year of planning and preparation we picked ours up in early June 2024

Here is ours, we picked it up at the end of July and built it out. The OVRLND campers are very well made and the company is very flexible with custom requests.

I have done compost toilets, holes and bags; depending on the location/rules and access. I have also just time it with stops and adjusted my diet to support. Of course, this was easier when single.

Don't wanna be that guy, think I'd get any answers if I asked this in it's own thread?

I honestly dont know why, unless folks have seen and just dont have an answer at the moment. I know some campers who wont answer because they do not look up local laws first and just go with the OG way, which includes a shovel and a hole. So they wont risk saying anything when they post where they go.

Compost toilets are the easiest way to check all the boxes for this one. And not the worst when it comes to clean up.

Similar to what @Florida AF is saying but there is a product called Bio-Gel made by Reliance that you add to any waste within a bag to help solidify and mask odors to prep it when you throw it away. Only reason I'm mentioning it is that it can be used for more than just composting toilets.

We go find a spot in the woods whenever possible. When that isn’t possible, we have a Trelino toilet IMG_4235.jpg

I started out with 400w (2x200w)of rigid solar panels on the roof, wired in series. The weight of the rigid panels was always a little challenging when raising and lowering the top, plus I was less than thrilled with the partial shade performance of the panels wired in series. It seemed more often than not one of the panels was partially shaded. So I swapped them out for (4x100w) flexible panels from Lensun, and wired them in a series/parallel configuration. This seems a to be a little better for performance, plus they weigh significantly less and are a lot more aerodynamic! IMG_4217.jpg

When you did the panel swap was it as easy as just connecting current wiring to the new panels? I have a heavy panel and it's affecting my lift system pretty dramatically, but I'm an electrical idiot and don't wanna hafta wire anything again.

Based on the number of panels you have, the number of panels you want to get, and what wiring configuration you want to run, you just need the right components and it’s all plug and play. These options are usually based on your available space and charger capacity. I went with these 100w Lensun panels because two of them fit side by side between my roof rails, and my 50amp charger could handle 400w of solar any ol way I wanted to configure it

Is this your first time using Lensun? I ask because I have their hood panel and I don't know if I installed it incorrectly or if their quality isn't up to snuff for the amount of curve the hood requires. The issue I'm having is that the edges are delaminating and I've tried getting them to seal again by using silicone caulking but the issue reappears.

I have heard from others with this problem, but haven’t seen any signs of delamination yet myself. I’m hoping that they resolved whatever was causing the issue. Do you think the additional heat coming from your vehicles engine accelerated the problem?

I had that thought as well but in my "research" I haven't ran across a widespread problem of this. Of course, not too many people would purchase such a niche product, so the info is slim pickings. I, personally, do not think the heat is an issue as it only reoccurs in particular spots and not across the entire edge. I park outside in the Texas heat, so I would think the entire edge would be susceptible to the issue and not just recurring areas but who knows. I know there's the more expensive Cascadia version and I haven't heard of any issues with theirs, so that's another reason why I was leaning more towards quality and not area of application.

Edit: Just want to add clarification that I do think the added heat with the engine would degrade the lifespan of the solar cells but I'm speaking specifically as to why I don't think it pertains to my particular delamination at spots along the edge of the panel.

Just trying to swap this for something lighter. It's a 200W system that Im running to a trickle charger.

    IMG_20241210_111658702.jpg
Hope it's as easy as disconnecting the output and using what I already have with a new panel

If you go with the same wattage panels and the same wiring configuration it should be a simple plug and play. PM me if you want more help looking at connections and determining what panels to go with

I spoke on the phone with Calvin (I think that’s his name) with Alcan suspension, about picking up a custom leaf pack for supporting the rear of my truck better. I’m currently running an Icon RXT multi-rate leaf pack in the heaviest configuration, and a set of Sumostop bumps, but it isn’t quite enough for my estimated 1200lbs of camper all loaded up. I’ll be in the Grand Junction area in July and plan to have him do the initial.

Alcan springs are great. I had them build me a set a couple years ago and they were exactly what I needed and they are holding up very well.

In North Maine Woods the first step is to find a spot clean of moose/deer/bear poo... I don't see how another animal's poo is any different.

My setup is pretty basic... I still use truck for truck duties, so can't do anything fancy with the bed, other than installing a Leer cap. And roof rack. Overlanding activities usually end up in winter offroading and/or white water exploration or hiking/hunting w/ backpack. Just driving is a bit boring, after years of doing the driving part only.

Can sleep up to two adults: one in the DC cab, another in bed. Truck has ~1.5"-2" of lift which is eaten down to less than stock height by steel skids, bumper, winch, cap and rack. Need to do something about it, would love to have a bit more of ground clearance when loaded up for trip. Camping gear setup is pretty basic, but I do have a 68 qt fridge powered by the secondary battery. So, steaks, salads and cold beer and other camping excesses now.

The next mod is a diesel heater :)

Stock LCAs, Stock spindles, and no drop bracket?
What do you estimate your total lift to be?
