So I installed a Stillen CAI last year with the oiled filter (I know, waste of money, blah blah blah). Had some issues with the P0101 code-probably from the oiled filter. Messed around with it. Cleaned the MAF real good and all was well for a while. About a month ago code came up again. Decided to just swap out the oiled for an AFE paper filter, thinking that was the issue. Code keeps coming back. It doesn’t come back right away either. Sometimes it’ll be 50 miles, sometimes it’ll be 10. The crazy part is it almost always comes on when I’m coming home from the gym at the same exact spot. Driving me nuts….I took everything apart again, cleaned the intake tube just in case there was some oil in there. Cleaned the MAF again, checked all my connections and no luck. Think enough oil got to the MAF sensor that it could be shot? Just wanted to see if there were any other thoughts before I shell out $100+ for a new MAF sensor. Thanks

I had the same issue with my oiled filter. Swapped to AFE dry. Cleaned the MAF, codes came back after 200. Problem went away with MAF replacement.

Thanks I’ll give it a shot. I kind of figured I was at that point.

That seems to have done it. Picked up a Hitachi replacement at autozone and so far no code.

My truck didn't like the Hitachi, threw codes within 20 miles. Could have been a faulty sensor.

That's weird since its the same brand as OEM. Which brand did you end up going with?

OEM. If OEM is Hitachi use that.

I ordered an interim piece (may have been Denso or something else) that would ship quicker and it threw the code. The OEM replacement from Toyota fixed it and I haven't had issues since.

I was looking for the other part to ID the brand but I've shit canned it/returned it since it crapped out on me almost immediately.
