Got a p0335 code, truck turns over without an issue. Walking over to the auto parts store to buy a new crankshaft position sensor. They were having issues with the part number. Going to check with Toyota on Monday.

Anyone have a Toyota part number?

Got under the truck and found the sensor covered in old oil, from a leaking valve cover (addressing this Monday). Popped the sensor off, gave it a good cleaning and put it back in. Code is gone for now and truck turned on no problem.

    truck has 193k miles

You may've done all that's necessary. You still want the p/n? I'm happy to look it up for you. I seem to remember the knock sensors and cam + crank position sensors as being pretty damn spendy.

Update: check engine light came back today. Same code I never replaced the part.

3k miles later. Removed it again and cleaned it. Code went away. Called around local part store. Drove to O’Reilly right away because they had the part in stock.

Have it in the truck just incase the CEL comes back while I wait for my Denso part to arrive.
takes about 5 mins to change once the skid plate is off

Update: Do not use part store parts, order the denso part number below.
    crankshaft position sensors
    Denso part number: Denso 196-1114

My CEL light came back on today with the same code p0335 at 208.3k miles. I am also getting code P1341. Made is 15k miles with no issues till today. I did drive it 25 miles with the code on because it had happened before.

I went this morning to O’Reillys and bought a new sensor to see if that would fix it. Codes P1341 and PO335 are still active even after I clear it (cel light comes back in seconds).

wires look good nothings looks like it rubbed on the belt. Truck starts and drives, feels a little under powered almost like it’s misfiring or relearning idle. The idle is not as smooth as it normally is. Once it gets to temp it runs like normal no issues but still has codes

am I missing something, should I be checking a fuse (what fuse and location), is there a live data I should be looking at, do I need to drive it more, or stop drinking it immediately and take it to the mechanic?

I ended up unplugging the battery for 5min and put in my old oem sensors and that fixed my issue.

Waiting on my new Rockauto part Denso 196-1114, will keep the OEM in my tool box for now

Our trucks do not like aftermarket electronic parts like the Hall effect sensors. Use Denso and for the MAF Hitachi only

No lie, I think every autozone part iv to throw at it ( in an emergency) besides spark plugs iv had to replace.

I'm resurrecting this... All my position sensors appeared to have failed. Will need to clean them as well. If not I'm starting a new thread.

Have you check your wires to make sure the serp belt didn’t get to them? That was what happen to me IMG_5800.jpg

I'll check it, but all 5 sensors have come up. Camshaft A B bank 1 and 2 for both and crankshaft sensor codes.

That’s bizarre, all of them at once? That speaks more to something else in my mind. They can’t all go bad at once. Check fuses, maybe wire harness or a ground?

I'm thinking ground wire. Moved the ground wire, it started back up, but I'm on the wrong gen tbh. I will try OP's method and cleaning them and resetting the ECU via battery. May replace the ground wire all together.
