Where did you buy the replacement sensor? If you got a cheap replacement, it's completely believable that it failed that quickly. If you got one from the dealership, then the next step would be to unplug the sensor and the plug where the sensor plugs into the ECU, then test each wire to check for breaks.

I got the same code, and then my truck stalled, and it wouldn't come back on after that...... I replaced mine with an O'reilly one and its still in there running good... I kept my OEM one, so when this one fails I'll just go back to the stock one....

Before you said it wouldn't start, now you're saying it won't turn over. Will the starter motor spin over the engine? If so, it is turning over. At this point it would help to look at live data to be sure the car can see the crank and cam data.

I tested both starters before replacing mine to make sure one was bad and one was operational... any chance the starter was defective to begin with?? Its too late now, but after the computer lied to me and I replaced the crankshaft sensor I went down a check list before I started replacing stuff I tried testing the battery, jumping the relay, replaced battery under warranty, replaced the relay just in case, at that point I narrowed it down to the starter, and I still checked the new starter cuz it was such a chore.....

Good morning, my problem started as the engine will not turn over, tested the battery, then scanned and got the code P0335 bad crankshaft position sensor, I replaced it, then it started and drove it for less than 100 miles, shutting it off and on a few times then tried to start it and same problem, got it towed home and replaced the starter, i put the old crank sensor back in just to see, then the p0335 code again, so i know it's bad, put the new one back in same problem, still will not turn over, all lights work battery is good, I'm going to take another look at the wiring. just don't have a clue, I hate to take it someplace but i'm running out of options FAST

Did you touch the alternator/ battery terminal with a metal object while the battery was connected?? Maybe grounded something else... I did this in a Camry and it blew that fuse.. assumed my friend disconnected the battery, while under the car my cheater bar slipped and it sparked at the alternator. I slid out and saw the battery connected which blew the 30 amp fuse.. had no turnover no start, among other things...

I NEED HELP! My 2008 is giving codes P0335, P0340, P345, P0365, and P0390. The first code is the crank position sensor, the rest of which are camshaft position sensors. I can hear my starter solenoid engaging and disengaging, but no crank no start. Do I need to replace the crank sensor? Also, do you think that if I did that, it would fix the cam posi sensors? Just started doing it this Morning. Checked battery as well as changed batteries. I have all power (A/C, radio, lights, etc.), just no starter turn, as well as all 5 of these codes that keep coming back after I delete them.

My cheap code reader says all of these cam sensor codes. My bully dog BDX tuner just has the crank sensor.

Maybe see if you could swap with someone near by?? if possible... other than that, probably purchasing from the local parts store... if it doesn't work, take it back.. possible starter... idk anymore, lol.. I did get the crankshaft position sensor and I went through a check list till I convinced myself it was the starter.. I could hear it try to engage, but would not spin..

I ordered a new cps, as well as a new starter. Both of which are oem from mcgeorge Toyota. 274k miles and used more than most tundras (starter) I’d say that it’s about time.

Lol I must’ve got a good’n. Work truck on a rice farm and it stops and starts at every levee in the field on both sides, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. If it’s not the starter, I might just keep using the old one, because I know replacing it can be a chore. If it is, it is though!:spending:

Try jumping the relay with the key on the 'on' position, if it starts, then you know its not the starter, if you get a click sound, but no start, its probably the starter...

Okay, saw a video on yt about jumping the starter (it was a little different from my situation) but anyway my test light wouldn’t turn on for one of the pins. The feller in the video said that it means the main fuse is out. Sound right?

If I remember correctly it was a "T" type relay and had to figure out how to jump it... I removed the relay and used a spare wire and I probed left-right and I could hear it click... I kept the right side in and probed the other ones until I got the left to right... Wouldn't recommend probing, I found a video on youtube with a newer Corolla with the same type relay.. Not sure what video you're using.

Edit: This is what I used since I had to see whag the number were, older relays show you how to jump, newer relays don't

    Here's another

I jump my 02 Celica the same way in the summer as it refuses to start, but the relay is waaay bigger..
