BUT!, the check engine light is on and I need to get it smogged, how do I fix this issue? Cut the wires loose from cam? Break the loop? Or could it be the switch went bad?. Help please..

Sounds like a loose ground wire when I look it up on other Toyota forums for different vehicles.

Is this for a 2016 Tundra? If so you may want to post over in the 2.5 Generation forum because you just posted this in the 1st Gen / 2000-2006 forum:

How do you change the part that says new member? I got banned for a month for saying something construed as political about a year ago and ever since am new member.

Go to the link @assassin10000 posted.

Change the “Custom Title” field to whatever you want.

But also, don’t change it to that.

    Put in these four things:
    • Year
    • Cab type: RC or AC or DC (regular cab, access cab, double cab)
    • Engine type
    • 2WD or 4WD
    Example: 2000 RC V8/4WD

There is only one long bed: The regular cab. You don’t need to put the bed length, just give us your cab type. And you don’t need to write it out. Everyone here uses the two-letter abbreviation “RC”, sometimes RC guys like to use “RCLB” for regular cab long bed, but that’s pretty redundant since there are no other 1st gen’s with a long bed. The RC is long. AC is shorter, DC is shortest.

You may want to take a minute to read this thread, it’ll probably help: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

It talks about some of this stuff, and is full of warnings and quirks about these trucks, working on them, leaks and other crap everyone deals with, etc

Reminds me how some 2nd gen Taco dummies at TW used to say ACLB. Like no shit... They're all the "long bed" which wasn't even long, at 6ft. The DCSB Taco was 5.5ft so the DCLB Taco was just the 6ft RC/AC Taco bed.

Similar to SWB/LWB in the GM world.

Which to further complicate, some people couldn't decide whether those acronyms were short wheelbase/long wheelbase or short wide bed/long wide bed

Lol never heard of a wide bed. I guess they meant fleet side as opposed to step side?

I honestly don't know. I know there are definitely wheelbase length differences, and I know there were stepside and fleetside options going back to the dawn of time. Clarification was asked repeatedly when anyone would use the acronym, and there was always a differend answer.

The stupid part is, the acronym and the phrase are both three syllables, so you're not saving time or words when saying it either way aloud, so you'll never hear someone say "S W B" out loud. But to that point, I've never heard someone refer to a truck IRL as "short wheel base" or "short wide bed".

    Clear as mud.
