So I got the P2440 code on my tundra. I was thinking about replacing the part or doing the bypass. Whoever has done the bypass please let me know any pros/cons about it? Is that the best option?

I had the 2442 code which is the Bank#2 stuck open. After doing a lot of reading, I opted for the Hewitt bypass. Installed the Hewitt Gen.#1 about 4 days ago and have had no problems since. Took about 30 minutes to install. 2007 SR5 Double Cab 4.7l. Well worth the $155.

Nope in fact I recomend it if you install before you have a problem you don’t need the blocking plates

It would be money well spent. $155 vs. $1500+ if you replace both valves and the pump and depending on the engine, replacing them can be a real Pain.
