Anyone paint that lower 3/4” lip black to make the running boards or sliders look tighter to the truck? Is it work the effort?

I stare at my truck daily wondering the exact same thing! I just need to get the time to do it. I think it will 100% be worth the time.

So, I went ahead and taped off and painted the lower 4” pan and 1” lip below the doors before installing the Tyger Blade running boards. I used the Rustoleum underbody black rubberized spray paint from Home Depot and am happy with the results. It’s not a hugely noticeable improvement but there is definitely less reflection off of the underbody which gives the illusion of being closer. Only took a hour to tape off and spray two coats so I’d say it was worthwhile.
