    Hey ya'll,

I took a stab (2 times actually) at painting my hood bulge and grill surround to match my 21' Cement truck. I used Automotivetouchup.com and they couldn't seem to get mix the right match. I understand there will be variance in color, but the stuff they sent me was way off.

Their customer service was awesome though and they were great about sending me a second batch to try and get it right. At this point, I want to try a different vendor though.

Has anyone had a better experience matching their Cement tundra with aftermarket paint?
It seems like my 21' Cement might be slightly lighter in color than earlier models, but that could just be my eyes playing tricks on me.

They usually ask for your VIN before mixing the paint. Painting chrome parts usually does not turn out well. Most of us order the parts from Sparks. My Barcelona was an exact match. Buy once, cry once.

Wow you're looks incredible. Great job man. You used Automotivetouchup as well? They didn't ask me for my vin when I ordered. I just gave them the paint code. When I inquired about the color being off the first time, they told me there were a couple variations of the 1H5 paint. Second one didn't turn out either though.

No, I bought them color matched....the factory paints them. The Barcelona has 13 or 14 different shades.

I bought a spray can of cement 1H5 from them recently to fix a scratch, and it was definitely darker than my 2019 tundra.

Lots of variables unfortunately, even down to base/priming coats will affect the end results. Cement as you probably know is also a pearlescent color, so the batch volume of metal and pearl flake will affect the actual color as well. Generally shops like to blend surrounding areas when doing paint work on vehicles with metal flake content as the variations in new and old paint are more noticeable.

I've replaced the bulge, grille surround and bumper caps now. All OEM paint from Toyota and theyre all slightly different shades. Not nearly like the OPs, but not perfect.

Yeah they told me they have two variants - one was ATX (shown above) and the other is some long number, which was slightly less dark. But the swatch they sent me for ATX was much lighter. Maybe they just screwed up mixing the paint twice lol. Cause that ATX version matched my truck really well. I was super stoked to get it, until I did...

Ugh that's so frustrating. I just ordered a new Cement bulge from Toyota, so we'll see how that turns out.

Since Toyota doesn't sell the grill surround separately I don't have a choice but to paint it, so I have to try someone else. That is, unless I get lucky and find a Cement truck at a junk yard or someone is selling one on here!
    Anyone? eh? eh?...

A good body shop can match the shade exactly.

Anything new for ordering our 1H5 Cement paint in a spray can from automotive automotivetouchup or any other source? Thanks!
