Hey everyone, looking for a bit of help. I have a 22 limited tundra off-road. Last month I lent my truck to a friend and he unfortunately backed up into a pole. Did some slight damage to bumper and parking sensor. He paid for parts and was replaced at a local body shop today.

now the parking sensor option on dash will not allow you to toggle it in the on position therefore not working… also the parking assist volume level can’t be controlled..
Anybody got and experience with this?

    Function before sparkle.
Do you have any error messages or does it just not work?

Parking sensor light is on the dash, and the steering wheel control won’t let you toggle it to on position

Update… at Toyota now. Truck not showing any codes. As of now they cannot figure anything out. Say the whole parking system is shut down and can’t get into it. Hopefully they find the problem soon….

You're actually kind of lucky. I have seen cases where damaged rear sensors will cause unexpected braking that makes it almost impossible to back up. Definitely a dealer repair.

Hope it works out. That had to be a bummer for both you and your buddy. I'm sure he felt awful.

That said - with all the "built in safety features", how was backing into a pole even allowed by the vehicle? The safety systems that cause people frustration trying to back up a trailer (or park) are designed so you don't back into something like a pole. So assuming he was using the vehicle as designed, how did all that stuff fail and you're both in this predicament? The truck should've stopped before it the pole.

Last update , Truck is fixed. Apparently all
    It needed was a calibration…

Do you mind sharing how much the calibration cost? I had to replace a broken rear sensor as well on a 2023, now I’m getting the parking system unavailable error codes.
