My Pioneer aftermarket double din DVD player has worked well for at least 6 months, but now it will not power on. For some reason I don’t think it’s a blown fuse.

Right after I replaced the radio my upper dash radio started losing time constantly, but I had no problem with it when the stock radio was in it.

Any ideas of how to get the radio back on?

9 times out of 10 it's either fuse or bad ground.

I have a Pioneer double-DIN head unit in my 2010 Tacoma, purchased and installed in about March 2018. It is generally reliable, but it will shut down and reboot at random. There are also times when my iPod works but doesn't produce any sound, and I'll have to turn off the the radio, or completely shut off and restart the truck in order to make it work.

After you verify there are no fuse or wiring issues if it still won't power on try doing a reset.

Google resetting your model number since you didn't provide it.

I didn't get to check the fuses yet since I had so much going on yesterday, but I'll try to get into it tonight. I haven't even had time to look up where the fuses are located, so if anybody knows where I need to check right off the top of your head, that would be awesome.

It is an AVH-210EX model Pioneer that has been great for months. Glad I had it when I went to Panama City on vacation last month or it would have been a LONG drive!

Behind the head unit there will be one, maybe two. Yellow and red wires in the harness that plugs into the back of the head unit. There should also be a fuse plugged into the head unit right next to the same harness. Any others should be the normal ones found in the fuse panel.

Yeah - I mean I need to look to see about where the truck fuse box location is and which fuse in it needs to be checked.

That one will be in the fuse panel under the dash by your left knee.

Ensure that the power connections to the stereo are secure. Make sure the wiring is correctly connected, and there are no loose or disconnected wires. Pay attention to both the power and ground connections.
