It seems that I am in a major minority with purchasing my 2017 Crewmax SR5 4x4 NON TRD. For one reason I had to get out of the trap of an f150 I purchased a few months prior and 2 it was he only new ‘17 on the lot so I got well below MSRP. I figured the TRD was just like the z71 in Chevy with the only differences being shocks, stickers, and skid plates. From what I understand I have the same ride height and clearance as the TRD as well so I couldn’t justify it. I am an outdoorsman mainly a fly fisherman but also a turkey and coyote hunter so I do go off road often but not rock crawling or anything like that. Am I alone here? I will probably also leave this baby bone stock and put some heavy use on this baby! I bet that is even more rare especially on this site leaving tundras stock!

What is the nomenclature for a non-TRD Tundra? I've seen Toyota Tundra's for sale with the word "GRADE" in the for sale title.
What is the price diff between a TRD and a non-TRD truck??

You're not missing out on much not having the TRD.

I only got TRD in the event that I couldn't get the $ for a suspension upgrade. Also for the bed stickers LOL
Stock should be just as capable and could always upgrade aftermarket if you so choose.

Oh don’t you worry I love this truck and wouldn’t change a thing about it, well maybe if I could get the mph digitally on the dash like the 18s and maybe some auto changing head lights ha.

Thanks! I got lucky since I didnt really have a choice in color as I was trying to greet the best deal on a left over 17. This was the only one in a 100 mike radius. I like it a lot!

Nice truck and you will be impressed with the quality compared to your F-150. I sure am.

Oh believe me I am. No more turbos and 10 speed tranny constantly hunting for the right gear. The ford did have more bells and whistles but what the tundra has seems to be much higher quality. The real v8 and 6 speed is much better feeling.

I have a '16 4x4 SR5 with the upgrade/convenience package and it looked exactly like yours when I got it. Color and everything.

Truthfully, I didn't want the TRD package. I read the truck rides a little rougher on the street and I wanted it to be as smooth as can be but still have 4x4 capability if needed. I did want the TRD wheels though so I bought a set off Craigslist.

    Nice truck.

I love the look of the non-TRD SR5. I actually sought one out because I wanted a "no-nonsense" truck. I ended up going with the TRD because I couldn't stop drooling over it, plus I was planning on installing Bilsteins and all terrains anyway, and the TRD comes with those items from the factory. Plus I got a great deal. As far as looks go, the "plain" SR5 is a sharp looking truck. I even think the wheels compliment the truck nicely. Can't go wrong either way.

SR5, better shocks better tires, better wheels, better grill, better no stickers, better steps and cost me less then a trd, I'm happy! With that said, you can mod yours to your liking ad save a few bucks!

I wanted an SR5 but I also wanted dual zone AC. TRD was the easiest and cheapest way for me to get 18" wheels on my Limited. My tow mirrors knocked out BSM. I wish Toyota would have let me a la carte order what I wanted.

I have a 2017 SR5 non-TRD Tundra. But I have done a couple dozen mods and upgrades since I traded in my 2012 Tundra for it last May, so it is far from stock.

I went non-TRD 17' as well in silver. I knew I would upgrade shocks and wheels anyway. Also got a good deal on the 17' due to all the 18s on lot.
