Has anyone had problems when it comes to plasti-dipping their emblems? The “SR5” and “i-force” badge were super easy but the “Tundra” badge has been a pain. I’ve tried dipping them twice but I’m still unsatisfied with the results. For whatever reason the plasti-dip isn’t sticking at the top of the badge, where the badge makes contact with the adhesive tape and the vehicle. I cleaned the area good, dried it with a leaf blower, and put on 8 coats. I sprayed it when it was about 75 degrees outside and waited 15 minutes between coats. Maybe I need to let it dry a little bit longer between coats. Any advice???

I've watched several good YouTube videos and read numerous write ups. It was a bit warm and in sunlight…maybe that's the issue.

I dont know if it shows this in the videos you are referring too but I've found it most effective to use a toothpick to break the dip away from emblems. Just tuck the toothpick behind the emblem for a clean break and it will wrap around the edge nicely.

I had issues too. I found that if you apply a very generous wet coat on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th....it comes out great. And when you remove tape it should just break from the badges very easy
    Good luck

Thanks for all the tips everyone. I will give it another try in a couple days. Just out of curiosity...what's the best way to remove the plasti dip from the badges? I've heard of folks using a heat gun along with goo gone or WD-40.
