I found a 2013 CM Rock Warrior on Craigslist that caught my attention and I’m considering buying. Here is a quick rundown of the listing:
    Seller is the original owner.
Less than 33,000 miles on it.
It’s been garaged & well cared for.
Guy has it listed for just under $33,000 ($32,950)
Here are some screenshots of his ad:

    DB9681A3-3417-4AF4-B965-99657F8DD870.jpg
    7C5C8C1D-0BE5-4829-86D9-DE977469D37F.jpg

So I went and checked it out, and it is nice... especially for being a 6+ year old truck, but I don’t know if I would classify it as “Excellent” condition.
Here are the things that I saw that led me to this conclusion:
    • There is one good dent in the front passenger door
    • The passenger side of the front bumper looks like it has been bumped on something pretty good
    • Minor scratches on both sides of the truck
    • Truck was purchased in Ohio (I’m thinking “rust belt”) and only moved to AZ last year (rust present on undercarriage)
    • Tires are original to the truck, manufacturing date was March 2013 (about 1/3 tread left, but dry rot is present) I would definitely replace immediately, if purchased
    • Looked inside the wheel wells and noticed cam tower on the driver’s side did exhibit a leak, passenger side looked clean (didn’t get a picture of either)
    • Antenna mounting point was broken off but he had the replacement part that goes from the antenna mounting point to the head unit
The truck was a very clean specimen but it did have some wear & tear that should be expected with a 6+ year old vehicle.

If I do make a move on this truck, I will likely sell my current 2011 Tacoma to offset some of the cost. I bought it new and have done quite a few mods to my Tacoma to meet my needs & wants, but the one thing I can’t mod is the size of the back seat. It is 5 years paid off with about 145,000 miles on it. Kind of nice not having a truck payment.
Here is my current truck with a list of my mods:

    28279FD8-D61D-411A-987A-83B6B20E7AEB.jpg
    • OME springs front & rear for 3” lift (Dakar leaf springs & 885 coils)
    • Bilstien 5100’s
    • SPC upper control arms
    • VIAIR On Board Air system
    • Mobtown Offroad tailgate skin
    • Console Vault
    • Meso Customs LED dome light
    • Meso Customs dual colored LED map lights
    • Weather Tech floor liners
    • Aluminum TRD Skid-plate
    • Toyota OEM mid-skid plate
    • Fumoto valve
    • Toyota OEM 4Runner Off-Road wheels
    • 33” Cooper ST Maxx (255/80r17, pizza cutters)
    • Nitro 4.56 Gear Ratio (front and rear diffs, original ratio was 3.73)
    • ECGS clamshell bushing
    • New lower ball joints
    • New CV axles
    • 8” KC HiLites behind the grill on BAMF mount
    • KC HiLites Dual Flex Pods on Rago Fabrication Ditch light mounts
    • Rigid 10” Lightbar in the hood scoop
I love my Tacoma but would like to have a larger backseat for my daughter (5 yrs old). My wife and I looked at some Tundras that were used but newer, as well as a few brand new Tundras also, but this Rock Warrior caught my eye.
What do you think? I know you haven’t seen this truck first hand, but based on what I’ve posted, is this RW worth what he is asking?

I dont know what pricing is like for your area, but that seems like a pretty clean truck. Never go in for asking price. They always list to negotiate. Find a number you're willing to part with it for. Be willing to walk away. But know that it maybe worth 33k to someone. That being said, that still seems high to me, even at low mileage. Still a 6+ year old truck. Get brand new under warranty for a few grand more.

It’s not a bad price... until I read your info about your in-person observations. I was excited about the certified status (plus Rock Warrior!) but would not pay this much for any amount of rust, cam tower leak, original tires. You could get a white (or any color that’s been on the lot long enough that the dealer is paying Toyota) 5.7 4x4 NEW for $5k more in some parts of the US....

    I vote no.

That price seems high but maybe not depending on your state?. I just got the same year with 37k miles on it in march the dealer was asking that at first, it sat for a few months and they dropped it to around 26K with the paragon bed cover. Also coming from a Tacoma to tundra IMG-4327.jpg

I’ve got a 2010 Rock Warrior. I love the truck and I like the Rock Warrior you’re looking at but in my opinion I wouldn’t buy that one. You can buy a brand new 2019 Crewmax TRD sport with a warranty and zero rust for not a whole lot more.

I just picked up a 2013 Tundra LIMITED TRD Rock Warrior, 6-1/2 foot bed, 92k miles. $22k.

You should check Kelley Blue Book, seems way high to me, even though the mileage is low.

Dude has not a clue what that's worth; might be a "I know what I've got" kinda guy. The asking price is OUT TO LUNCH AND NEVER RETURNING. Rock Warriors' only unique thing is the wheels... AND you can get them elsewhere. RW suspension? HA, just TRDOR Bils. Yeah, it's under b2b warranty, but you can get the same on another, newer, truck. Just get something newer at 33k. You can get a very nice, low mileage truck for that much. Unless you really really want the sticker package, find a newer truck.

exactly. The wheels are worth 1k ish. Thats it over a standard 4wd truck. That thing is worth maybe 24if it is in great condition. Upside is that it was garage kept. That will keep the plastic and rubber nice when it wasnt used

Sorry, I wouldn't pay over $24k for that. Maaaaaybe if it had spent its whole life in the desert and was otherwise flawless, but if most of its time it was in Ohio and there's visible rust as you say, nope. It has the same plastic bed liner my RW did, and my bed is all ate up with rust because of it thanks to the good ol Midwest. That and the cam tower leak alone is enough to dissuade me at that price.

btw you might have less chance of a cam tower leak on a RW than any of the new ones :)

I bought my 2013 rw with only 48k miles on the clock and its the limited with thr leather and all the bells and whistles for that year for only $24k. One owner no rust or cam towers issues bit did have the original bfgs on it too. That price included shipping from Minnesota to Colorado.

In October of 2017 I bought my Texas Edition CM with 84K miles for $23,500.
That being said, I think the asking price is about 7-10K too high.
If I had the budget to meet that asking price, I would have gotten a 2014+. Even if that means having more mileage on it than 32,700. The dash board, gauge cluster, and center console is much more advanced than the 2013.
Like others have said, the TRD Rock Warrior is nothing more than some stickers, cheap bilstein shocks and 17" wheels.

Seems excessive. I got my 2010 SR5 TRD in 11/17 from Avondale Toyota with 161,xxx for 18,500 out the door and that was pretty high.

I think you can do better.

I know it has to not even been a full day since I posted this thread, but I really appreciate all the responses, fellas!
You all are only confirming most everything I felt after I met the guy and saw the truck (and then some).
When I was going in to see the truck, I wanted to love it and buy it, but once I saw it first hand I didn’t think it felt as good as when I initially saw the add.
The guy selling it was a cool dude, but his truck (and that price) aren’t worth it to me.
This RW won’t be in the cards for me.

Uh.....bought my '13 Crewmax Limited with 31,500 miles in Nov of 2015 for $35K. Only thing wrong with it was the windshield had about 5 big stone chips. It's been in TX it's whole life. So that '13 Rock Warrior seems a little pricey to me.

    Mine was certified.
