    Howdy,
I need something to power an oxygen concentrator that draws up to 350 watts at max operation. Would I be able to use a power inverter that plugs into the Tundra cig lighter? I tried a 400 watt once before and ended up going through the fuses on both panels. Maybe a 1200W inverter or is that too much to ask of the cig lighter and battery
    Thanks!

if I remember the equation correctly: power in watts = volts x amps.

So 12volts x 15amp fuse = will net you 180 watts before you are blowing fuses.

If you want to run that much power, you’ll need to hardwire the inverter straight to the battery, which is why the beefier ones come with battery clamps.

depending on where you stick the inverter and length of the wire, will depend on the gauge of the wire, but 8 gauge should be a safe bet.

    Pretty things
I've got a buddy who gifted me a nice 2k watt inverter.

I have yet to install it because even mounting under the hood (close to the battery) requires ludicrous sized leads and a lot of other accessories. Distribution blocks and fuse, wiring in a disconnect, wiring outlets into the center console.....

Just too much when I don't really have the need.

Anyway, You will almost definitely need something running directly off the battery, and a permanent setup might be beneficial for you.

Thank you both for the much-needed advice. I think I'll just go with a portable battery/generator to be on the safe side. I haven't filled the truck up yet, so I've got lots of money. Dang, I sure wish that was funny........
    Thanks again!
