    Hey guys,

So I just bought a 2010 tundra, so I am not at familiar with the engine bay. I've had a civic for the past 7 years and pretty much know where everything is on the k20.

I want to take a look at the pressure switch/sensor for the power steering system, which should be located somewhere on the HP side. I see both the supply and return lines coming off the reservoir on the left hand side of the bay and they duck down and under. Also notice a bunch of pullies on the front end and I would expect one of those to be driving the water pump..

Before I start taking off tires, skid plate, and ripping off plastic I'm wondering if someone actually knows where it is/ the best way to get at it, to save me the hassle of figuring it out the hard way lol.

    Thanks in advance!

How easy is this to replace? My CEL came on yesterday and gave me a P0553 code. 2007 4.7.

Easy. From what I remember, just unplug the connector to the back of the sensor, and have a towel/drip pan/catch ready under the sensor. Unthread the sensor and quickly thread in the new one to prevent a big mess of fluid. Plug the connector into the new sensor, and top off your power steering fluid for what was lost during the swap.

    Pretty things
If you don't need it asap, I would search a Toyota dealership with a large online presence to get the best price.

I would definitely stick with a genuine part. Might be a Denso part originally.?

Is it known as a “pressure switch?”

My CEL came on yesterday but is off today. Same P0553 code and when I googled the issue it sent me to this thread which I posted in 2½ years ago ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ want to fix it once and for all one is a $36 part and the other is $160

    Many on the way.
Try one of the Japan or Middle East based suppliers. Impex shows 89448-34020 for $47, the ride over the Pacific is probably $15 - $20.
