Hey guys, I have an ‘04 Tundra LTD AC that I’ve had for a few months with around 99k on the clock. I’m thinking about flushing the power steering fluid, because I kind of think it might not have been changed, and my pump is starting to groan a little bit. Also have a pretty minor seep on one of the boots, but the fluid level isn’t noticeably decreasing so I’m not that worried about it. I planned on doing the flush, where you disconnect the return line and run it to a container, and run new fluid through. Would anyone know what the inner diameter of this hose is? I heard that the whole hose might be 3/4 inch, which makes me believe it might be like 5/8 inch, but can anyone confirm? I wanted to find the inner diameter so that I could find a hose to run to a container for the old fluid. Thanks!

I believe the ID is 3/8" unless they changed it from yr 2000.

I’ve replaced the return line my truck due to corrosion of the rigid line section.

Actual inner diameter is 10mm but you’ll have difficulty finding it. You’ll have to use 3/8” like I did. The hardest part is getting it on the plastic port of the reservoir. I can’t recall if I had to do that for a changing of fluid though.

I'll prolly do that, thanks. Yeah you wouldn't do that when draining the reservoir a few times, but I want to flush it all out, since the fluid might be old and it appears to have some black stuff in it.

Use one of these for the reservoir if you don’t have a fluid extractor...
