Anyone have one? Any feedback? I'm gonna regear soon and want an LSD in the rear. Was considering the auburn, but want to get some feedback on this one first.

I'm not ready to trust Chinese steel in an LSD... the Auburn LSD is made in the USA with US steel.

I get it. With that said, the Powertrax for the Tundra has been around for a little while now, and I have not read of any issues or failures. When I decided to upgrade, I talked to Matt @ MCM Fab & Design. He had the first 2 samples of the Powertrax and said both held up well to supercharged Tundras on 37s. That was enough for me, but I have since read many other success stories with the Powertrax too.

Spoke to Keith, at DirtyDeeds, for about 30 minutes on the phone the other day. He said he's had nothing but problems with the Auburn and told me to go PowerTrax Pro. It is currently being installed as I type this.

    Too many, but not enough....
I heard its relatively easy to blow out the Auburn in certain situations from a few members on here. There was a comparison thread on the 2. I have not heard claims about blowing out the Powertrax though. I would search.

The Auburn LSD has been used in Tundra trucks for many years, and there was a time people were using synthetic gear oil against manufacturers recommendations... those that followed the manufacturers recommendation have not had problems.

He said he sees all the time where the tires start turning at different rates. Happened to his own as well as many customers vehicles.

And I called him about buying an Auburn from him directly. He knew if I went PowerTrax I was most likely buying somewhere else.

I read plenty of things about the Auburn (and other clutch/friction based LSDs) getting worn out quickly, especially if one tire happens to light up. I went with the Powertrax earlier this year, and have about 5000 miles on it and very happy. 5.29s and supercharged+pulley, so it's fighting a lot of torque, and no complaints. Been running straight synthetic gear oil (even though they recommend non-synthetic). I can light up both tires easily, and at the same time haven't heard any noises or felt any popping when taking corners, regardless of speed or how tight I'm turning. I was worried there'd be some side effects on the street, but I haven't noticed any ill manners and it's stopped the one tire fires, and I run the traction control fully disabled so it's the only thing keeping the rear traction in check. Not a long term review by any means, but I've been happy.

Awesome. Mine will be getting SC'd in the somewhat near future as well.
