Tried to search for an answer but couldn’t find one. Does anyone have an issue where the power locking window button locks the driver from rolling down the other windows? Not sure if it’s meant to be that way but I’ve never had a vehicle lock the driver from rolling down the passenger window, for example, while window lock is on. I’ve always been able to roll the others down even though it’s locked. Thanks in advance.

It’s by design. Not my favorite. I’d prefer to still be able to control all of them from the master but it’s just not that way on many.

I hate it too, and every Toyota I've had with power windows was setup that way. I tried unplugging the switch in the door, but it completely disabled the window all together. I tried to see if anyone has tried a jumper to keep the front controls active but haven't found anything yet.

    Drives me nuts!

My kids want to play with the with windows so I have to lock them. Then the only way to roll it back up is to unlock them. Next, they push their down button so that it cancels me pushing my up button.

I can't tell you how many times I've done the crazy behind-the-seat swat to encourage co-operation in putting the windows up. All because someone didn't think that maybe the driver should have the master override for window switches.

Thank you for the replies. I figured it was, but thought I’d ask just to be safe. Love Toyota’s but sometimes they do more harm than good with the ‘over thinking’. If only we had a way to show them the ‘kiss’ method. Keep it simple, stupid.

So decided it was time to try to do research for this project again. I did find a YouTube video for a Toyota Sienna Mini Van that had a bad switch in the passenger door and he bypasses it. I am guessing the same can be done for the Tundras back doors. I just need to find the right wires to bridge.

Might be time to play around with some wires, lol.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I know I had a 2007 service manual from Toyota so maybe it hasn't changed much across 2-3 gen. I am still trying to find where I put it.
