Does anyone have this? Any pros? cons? I'm disappointed in the whole OEM trifold cover fiasco and its time for a change.

I have the retrax pro xr. I didn't think it was worth the price difference from the manual to the power. I use mine frequently and have come to the conclusion that the power one would have been a pain and I'm glad I decided against it. I can open and close it very quickly manually with little to no effort. The power one takes much longer to open and close comparatively speaking. There's also more to go wrong with the power. I would highly recommend saving your money on the difference of the manual vs the power. Use that money for something else you want in the truck.

Agreed. Love my manual retrax. Quick and easy to open or close with 1 hand. I think the power version would just piss me off. It'd probably impress some folks at the grocery store though.

Watching that again just reconfirms I made the right decision for myself. I can open and close mine manually in less time than it takes that to open or close under power. I'd be curious to know how much power that truly draws when not in use.

I have the Retrax ProXR on my 2020. I will put the same model on the 2023 when the truck gets here. Fantastic lockable and usable cover. Didn't even consider the power model. No need for it. I have over 100K miles on my truck now definitely made the right decision for its use.

These are all excellent points. You’ve convinced me. My main reason for powertrax was that I am planning to get the overland bedrack slotted in. If I put mollie panels on will it make it difficult to still open all the way by hand from the side of the truck?

It is spring assisted, you can pretty much open the latch and let just it go, to open all the way. Or you can open a ways, close the latch and it stays at that point. If there's not room around your molle setup, maybe add a pull-strap? Find a spot at the rear of the bed and run something to the area of the latch on the cover maybe? Would be a short section of cord and easy to grab, while being mostly out of the way.

Anyone using a manual Retrax with a bed rack? Any issues opening/closing with the bed rack being in the way?

Thanks, do you have any pictures of it by any chance? I’m trying to get an idea of where the access to the handle to open and close would be around the rack. I guess it would depend on what stuff I have mounted on the rack.

Handle to open bed cover is on drivers side and you can just walk it up to the back of the cab while going in and out of the rack.

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
Mine was recent straight from the factory and it came with giant long tubes for draining :(

Retrax support is cool though, I did a warranty claim on some parts I fucked up from install and they hooked it up with the quickness. Glad I paid the monies.

I have the PowerTrax and I’m very happy with it. I went for the electric because I wanted an easy way with a rack and RTT above. After almost one year, I have no regrets and would do it again.

Any tailgate seal suggestions? I try the ESI bulb seal. Maybe I installed wrong but the tailgate doesn’t close as well and water still gets in after going through high pressure car was test…

I’m not expecting a bed cover to be water tight, especially not when pressure washing. Think about what you really need. If you want a fully watertight cabin, maybe you’d be better with the Sequia?

@TuffTundy the retrax works great off road. dust does get in the bed. sometimes needs a bump when closing as it will move in the channel. Had one roller come out of the track but easy to knock it back in the track with a mallet and flat head screwdriver

I can confirm, it works well but I had quite a bit of dust inside after driving ˜40mi on a dirt/forest road. Otherwise, no issues found yet.
