    Hey guys,
I just purchased a 2018 inferno Tundra 16hrs away in Hazard, KY. Was planning on flying out and driving it home but with the whole pandemic and cost offset its cheaper and easier to have it transported.
I bought and transported my used Tacoma sight-unseen from Wisconsin to Maine and lucked out that there were no issues, am not willing to take that chance again even though the Tundra only has 10k miles. They already bullshitted me about the second key missing.
My question: has anyone had experience using mobile inspectors like PomCar? (That Lemon whatever company has shit reviews for not being thorough..) wanted to have it looked at/driven for me before mailing the check.

Welp, disregard that.. There isn't an ASE Tech within driving distance to even look at it so there goes that idea..

I’d suggest posting in the regional section of this forum to ask if there is a member local who would go look at it for you.

You really don’t need an ASE tech in my opinion, that truck should still be covered by base warranty, but a look for cam tower oil leaks wouldn’t hurt.

Verifying body / interior / tire condition matches the add, basically any non-warrantable issues is what I’d be most concerned with in your situation.

I have done this before. I live on Long Island and wanted a BLACK XRS Corolla. I found one in Fla. at a great price. Looked up the town, and found a Toyota dealer near them. I got a full report, called and spoke to the service mgr and had the car shipped site unseen. Same thing with my current Black XRS, after the old one was totaled when I was hit from behind. That was in Topeka KS. Same thing.

In your case, there seem to be 2 Toyota dealer near Hazard, KY.

Have one of these shops check out your Truck. It should be around $125 and you will get a very through report, down to the thickness of the brake pads. Plus they can do something a car inspector can't do. They gave me the history they had on my car.

Unfortunately you mentioned "I just purchased a 2018 inferno Tundra 16hrs away in Hazard, KY." What will you do if they find a lot of things wrong with the truck??

Been taken care of, can't figure out how to delete post. I had a deposit at the time holding it while looking for an inspector so it wasn't "just purchased" per se, sorry.. Check was overnighted and they're getting it today, carrier is picking the truck up next week.

I tried both Toyota dealers and two third-party inspectors. None would go to the dealer to inspect it because it's in banjo-country apparently but I spent two days digging and the Service Mgr who did the 5k and Sales Mgr who sold the truck new at Mann Toyota both gave me enough info where I was comfortable buying it regardless including the prior owners name and number and the reason for the trade-in which was my biggest concern. 74 y/o man that changes vehicles like underwear, non smoker, drives to the grocery store once per week at most, traded for the 0% 84 months for a Ram (eww). Had a guy on the TW forum who knows one of the guys at the selling dealership do recon and got the exact same story from a different sales guy and had my husband call asking about the truck and got the same story as well. Doubtful but if there's anything wrong with it at this point, i'll fix it.
