Hello, has anyone converted their standard headlights to the premium LEDs found on the higher trims? They look awesome and I would consider pulling the trigger if there was a harness adapter available for them.

I don't think this is possible. The standard headlights operate like every other headlight you've ever seen. The premium LED headlights, on the other hand, are driven by the CANBUS system and are not at all like a standard headlight. They have a constant 12V power feed and a data connector. Every individual bulb in the headlight is turned on/off via the computer, not by sending power to each bulb via a dedicated pair of wires.

It's possible, you just need more ppl wanting/requesting this

Its sad, these tundras been in consumer hands for over 1 year+, but we still don't have many accessories from the big name vendors like husky floor mats for example.

Figures most aftermarket and mod shops would focus on the big 3 (Chevy, Ford, ram), if they create some kinda accessory they literally have 10x the userbase to sell too vs the smallest tundra owner base.

Also, all the canbus is doing is changing/lowering the voltage since not all LEDs just run off 12v. It's not some crazy computer system - there are plenty of bypass options - again just need the million+ userbase to drive the mod community do it

For example in MY 22, Tundra sold close to 95k.

Ford MY 22, F150 sold close to 654k
    Chevy/GMC MY 22, Silverado/Sierra sold close to 765k
Ram in MY 22, 1500 sold close to 546k

The pandemic hit and effected these vehicle sales, F150 no longer moving 1million units annually etc, but you can clearly see Toyota userbase is very small versus the big 3.

If anything is changing voltages it would be something like a DC/DC buck converter inside the headlight itself. The CANBUS connection to the headlight is purely for low voltage signaling, i.e. turn this bulb on, turn this bulb off, etc. The LEDs in the headlight are NOT being powered via voltage coming across the CANBUS connection. Think of the premium LED headlight like a SATA hard drive in a computer. It has a dedicated 12V connection for power, and a separate data connection for signaling.

So yes, some 3rd party could manufacture a box to take the analog 12v connections to the standard headlight in the lower trims and convert those signals to CANBUS signals for the LED premium headlight, but I doubt the demand is there considering a pair of the premium headlights alone is over $3k.

It says aftermarket alpharex and the other brand only, there are dedicated companies that just make can bus harnesses.

But fast forward 3 years of production and well maybe enough units on road to warrant a mfg to develop it

I contacted Alpharex about the possibility of making this adapter for us, or making a version of the TRD Pro premium LED projector headlights that have the standard connectors instead of CANBUS. They were very receptive and responded to me, so I think its worth contacting them if you want to show that there are enough of us that would purchase this. Im older and am past the stage in my life of wanting race style non OE lights, I want to keep the look OEM, so if there are enough of us out there, let them know... email them at info@alpharexusa.com
