Wondering what the light performance differences are between the standard LED headlights and the "premium" headlights? I know what the visual differences are inside of the assembly just wondering what that means in performance in dark conditions? And NO I am not talking about changing the bulbs....

I live in a rural/semi-rural area and capable headlights are a must to ferret out the various wildlife that wander on the back roads.

My stock LEDs are pretty good but I saw a video on the "premium" headlights that indicate they significantly better for night time driving.

Has anyone considered swapping for the premium assemblies?

Interested as well. I'm predicting this will be a huge mod in the future.

@Roman quoted the price/link to these if you are interested as folks are asking the question.
However I can tell you that at those prices I will stick with the standard and try to ‘drive more carefully’ when I do venture into those conditions (and get myself a lighbar as surrounding degrade)

I thought my Tacoma LED's were expensive at $600+ a piece... but $3k per set

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it doesn't really have better brightness. Off of the top of my head, it only has sequential turn signals and auto-leveling. I don't even think it has Adaptive Front-Lighting.

Auto leveling is legit in a truck though. Why its not standard in all trucks for when you tow/haul at night has been a question for me since I first towed/hauled at night. I literally bought air bags just because my truck would blind people from my camping gear and bike rack.

The standard headlights have manual adjustment. So it's still a factory option, it's just not automatic. Makes sense to group it as a convenience feature.

The premium lights are ENTIRELY different. They have 4 separate LED projection beams rather than the twin reflector beams in the standard LED lights.

Would be great to know the difference in lumens from the reflectors to the projectors.

Would love to see a side by side comparison but can't find one anywhere. But then again maybe I don't want to know what I'm missing out on lol

The standard headlights seem pretty bright to me, it would be nice to have the premium set but for the cost after the fact is it really worth it? Why not just add a light bar?

You can't really drive around with a lightbar on the roads as it'll blind everyone, but these premium headlights will probably light up the road better for you.

I have a 2018 Tundra Limited 4X4 with the premium LED headlights. I really like them and they light up the road very well. I would pay for them again buying a new truck. I am not looking forward to the day when one of them dies. LOL. My wife's new 2022 Camry XLE may have even brighter LED headlights.

I’ve seen both and both are a great upgrade . For $395 up charge I think they are well worth it . Just came from a 22 Gmc Sierra with the upgraded led lights on it and they were amazing too , but the Toyota upgraded ones are a tad bit better . Going around turns the light up the dark spots on the far sides when you turn . I’m really happy with the output

Can someone with the Premium LED post an output shot showing the sharpness and width of the cut off line? I've yet to see a photo of the headlight output.

Honestly, coming from a 2014 Sierra that had negligently terrible projectors, the normal SR5 reflectors kick ass and are REALLY good! I can’t imagine any headlights being better honestly, they do a great job!

I can electronically adjust my stock (non-premium) headlights up and down to increase/decrease the throw. They work great!
