Back again....made a few successful short trips in the truck...was getting too confident it seems...was even thinking I could have it tested for emissions again.....nope.

Took a 30 ride to pick up something last night and just as I started back home it popped a CEL. Was running fine out and back, but checked it this morning and it was showing P0441. Looked up all the old threads here covering that and figured the gas cap, likely from 2000 had given up, or at least the seal on it. So I'd planned to just go get a new one but wanted to check under the hood as some of the posts mentioned hoses that may get loose or leak that could cause the code as well......hoses....I've got no hoses!

Can't recall if they were ever there, but I'm gathering based on photos others have posted that I'm missing a few hoses at the very least. Anybody know what they're called (evap hoses?) and exactly how many I'm missing? Seems the purge valve with the green tag may not need one, but not really sure what's missing.

    Thanks in advance as always.

Really appreciate this, but does the top hose coming from right to left terminate into that black box?

Grey w/ green port into black box goes to the solonoid mounted to the IM, then into the throttle body. Brown(ish) hose goes across the intake manifold to the intake tube baffle.?

your hose with the green port is on the wrong side of evap, if that matters?

So they basically cross at the little black box? Also any idea what these are called so I can go find replacements, given mine are apparently somewhere on the road?

Gotta keep your hose in the same area code.

sorry, no clue what they’re called. Hopefully someone chimes in that does, cause mine are looking cooked.

Haha indeed, didn't drive that far so they're probably still in the same area code.....just no idea where. Thanks.

Just pull one off and take it to the parts store and get a good length of vacuum hose the same size. Might as well do them all in the engine bay.

I would definitely check the other side of engine regarding vacuum lines while you're in there.

Circled green thing just for reference. Which items do you feel you need to find ?

Thanks and basically all of them at this point as whichever ones aren't missing could probably stand to be replaced. Just tried the parts store but didn't have time to grab a piece without getting there after they closed and they apparently couldn't look up the hoses or even the size, so I've got to go back tomorrow with a section and just buy a length of it.

Suggest taking green thing or black box for fitting purposes since you’re buying new hoses.

You sure you don't have enough length to see if it will clear codes ?

If the thing doohicky behind the battery is the evap the port to the hose with the green thing is 8mm and the other port is 10mm.

Id bet a 5/16 could stretch over both, but 3/8 would be loose?

Ok, so I think they may have just fallen off and also may have a replacement hose that doesnt fit well. So I reconnected to match the photos above and will say it definitely smells a but more of gas fumes than I recall. Have I crossed something wrong?

Those hoses at the bottom seem to fit the opposite tubes much better but I was trying to match the photo @Sirfive shared above. Also all the wiggling seem to have cracked the end of the larger one so I grabbed a zip tie to keep it on at least for now.

Has anyone here ever tried cleaning an evap canister? A quick search on google says something about blowing through the hose that comes from the tank with low pressure air. My squaw stinks like gas sometimes, i think if i only run it for a minute, shut it off, then start it again…ill see what happens after it quits raining.

Any reason why plugging those all in would have it smelling like gas fumes so strongly?

I think your lines off the little box thing are backerds, which come off the TB, which smells like gas.

Appreciate that but does the tube closest to the front of the truck not get a hose?

It definitely still smells like gas around the truck even though it's not been run for 12 hours. So I need to just swap back the hoses to where they seem to fit better anyway? Had them that way at first but then the cab smelled of gas pretty strongly.

A stuck canister can smell like gas, but mine doesnt, so im not willing to experiment before someone who knows affirms, or corrects me. Cause these rebreather things, should be bypassed and vented.

I would check the above Feed/Return lines and the connection below.

Sorry but all these angles are killing me, do the two tubes on the right side not both get hoses? The pic here seems to show the hose coming off the green thing goes somewhere else entirely, no?
