Pulling to the right even after re-alignment

    I just put on a new set of tires on 20" rims. After the balance and alignment, my truck has been drifting to the right and pulling hard to the right when I come to a stop. I brought back the truck for a re-alignment, still having the same issue. Brought it in again and the mechanic suggested it may be a caliper issue. Im hoping that is not the case. Any insight on this would be appreciated. Could it be the tires?

    New tires and new alignment, it is was not having problems before it is likely the alignment is not correct and/or an issue with the tires not being true. It could be brake related if a caliper is sticking, but if the issue is new it is probably related to the recent work.

    Make sure you find a good alignment shop, so many these days just set toe and thats it, and Tundras are sensitive to alignment so it needs to be done correctly.

    Now on new tires, could be one if defective or not balanced, but that would not usually present itself as a pull, would usually be a vibration.

    Did the alignment shop give you the alignment readout? Post a pic of it here.

    Thanks for the reply. I did not get a pic of the read out. I am going back tomorrow for them to re-do it and I will ask for a print-out. I am now also feeling vibration at 55-60 mph which has never happened before.

    What kind and brand of tires did you install? I ask because while any tire can be defective, some brands are more prone to issues than others. A bad tire could make the truck pull and also have vibration issues.

    I had some defective tires earlier this year, truck felt unstable at speed, there were vibrations as well. Had alignment done, improved but still not right. Put 9000 miles on the tires and took them back about 5 times for balance issues. Last time they gave me full credit for them and I had another brand installed. Night and day difference in smoothness.

    I then had alignment checked by a different shop, was way off and certainly was not done correctly the first time. Immediate improvement in handling in all conditions.

    Tundras are finicky with tires, tire pressures and alignment, so keep at it and you will get everything dialed in.

    I have a 2017 and my truck has ALWAYS pulled right even with a good alignment. Not too sure why that is but its done it since Ive owned it. I have a 3" lift on it so Im not sure if it needs UCA buts its something Ive learned to live with.

    Thanks- no suspension issues.
    As for tires, I went from KO2 All-Terrain to Cooper Discover All-Terrain. Not sure why I changed, but I wanted a diff look. They seem to be the issue.

    Well, the tires that I had earlier this year that I returned and would not keep balance was in fact the Cooper Discover XLTs. I switched to Wildpeaks, which have had no issues balancing, no vibrations or tracking issues.

    ah- well that would make sense and may be the case. Unfortunately I purchased them from an online distributor. Doubt they help me out.
    Any ideas on how I can sell these tires?

    Well that is why I asked about brand of tire. Plenty of folks run the XLTs and love them. I had a bad batch and honestly, I think they were the only tires that I have ever purchased that had defects.

    I think I would take the truck to a local retailer and have them check balance again. It may just be a crappy quick balance job. A good tire installer could also make sure they are mounted properly, there are marks on the tire to help installers get them mounted correctly. They may also try rotating them in a different orientation, that may take care of the vibrations. If they are in fact defective, your local tire shop that checks them could probably give you an invoice stating they were out of round or whatever, then you could have that to show your online retailer. May be worth a shot.

    Otherwise you can always sell tires on craigslist, the market place here or on facebook.

    I appreciate the feedback. I actually had them re-balanced a month ago when they re-did the alignment.

    I would guess its the tires, but its still pulling hard to the right when I come to a stop--a red light, a stop sign. Its a bad pull--almost a jerk.

    I have had 3 different tires on my 2017 all have been extremely difficult to balance and alignment has always been a bitch too. To be honest Ive bitched to my wife saying that I am thinking of getting rid of the truck given I have had to take it in almost every other month to keep it from shaking and vibrating. I just had my tires balanced the other day..... went in with no shake and after balance big steering shake at 55 and when brakes are applied. Took it back and they re-balanced and its still slightly there around 55-60. Just tired of chasing it, this truck is SUPPPPPPER sensitive.

Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
    If your getting a resonant vibration (always seems to be 55-60 on these Tundies), and you've had the tires balanced repeatedly, pay to have a good shop road force balance the wheels. Its about 25$ per wheel, it will tell you, with printout, if your tires or rims are fucked. The road force balance allows them to use the inherent defects in the tire and rim to cancel each other out as much as possible, then they will dynamically balance it to be correct or tell you which tire/rim is too far out of spec and needs replaced. It's worth the money if you are tired of chasing the vibration.

    As for the pull, sounds like a brake issue to me.

    If you can't get the tires replaced, sellem' on here or offerup/facebook etc for spares. No one gives a shit if the spare is balanced.

    First thing I’d do is swap sides on your front tires, and see if the pull changes. If it’s a “radial pull” from a tire, it will likely pull left, or maybe even track straight, instead of pulling right.

    But reading through, it appears that you went back for another alignment by now, did they fix it?
