Putting in leveling kit using spring compressor, the easy way?

I have a 2021 Tundra and want to add a 2.5" leveling kit, puck, on top of strut. Rather than go to all the rigmarole of suspension removals, I bought a higher end spring compressor (the one that comes in the red box, HD with keeper). My thought is to remove the wheel, suspend truck and recompress with floor jack to compress strut, attach spring compressor, un-attach strut from top housing, suspend truck then proceed to lowering jack under suspension and drop top of strut out of housing and sneak/bolt in puck, push back into place re-asserting strut into housing, reattach and done???? Remove spring compressor then get re-alignment of course.

***Has anyone actually done this, please?

 

Please don’t do it. Don’t be that guy who buys a brand new truck and a cheap $50 lift kit.


Are you aware of the alignment issues by having a lift with the factory upper control arms?

They are limited in range of motion. Anything over 2 inches and you take a risk that your alignment may not be able to get “in spec” and result in alignment/tire wear or handling issues. I would not want a new truck done cheap,or messed up from the beginning

Also,it is widely known that puck lift spacers cause a crappy ride,versus a proper lift. The pucks are popular since they’re cheap.

Compressing the spring won’t compress the shock so unless you have someway of keeping the shock compressed after lowering jack this method won’t work.

 

All this just so you don’t have to undo 1 extra bolt at the bottom of the shock? Seems like a bad idea. If you do it the right way you won’t even need the spring compressor. Just undo the shock and take it out Whole then reinstall with puck. I think your thinking too hard about this one. Also you won’t find too many fans of spacer lifts here but to each their own. Guess we'll take you anyways.....Welcome from TX! I also agree that your WAY over thinking this one and if your heart is really set on a puck or spacer lift then go for it..... but your down grading from factory with this.... the ONLY thing this will accomplish is raising the front. If you save a few more dollars then you can actually get some decent leveling kits and also improve the ride.
