I am fixing to buy these two products to use on my trucks and cars. My wife's 2022 Camry has a lot of PPF on it. I was wondering if these products are safe with PPF and do they protect well with PPF? I watched a video of a lady at The Rag Company doing a SUV using Bead Maker as a lubricant for clay and as a drying agent after a wash. This would help me tremendously because I have very bad arthritis. Would Defender Si02 Protectant be safe with PPF? She stated it bonded and played well with Bead Maker. The SUV looked great and she did it under a hour. She used some kind of clay mitt to clay the SUV, I liked clay bars and they have worked great for me. Thanks for any help.

I didn't know I was going to stump everybody. LOL. How about give me your experience with Beadmaker in general. I found a few posts about using it, by searching. I would like to know the different ways you have used it, main protection, topper, drying agent, lubricant, etc. If anybody has used Defender Si02, I would appreciate your thoughts on that also. Thanks for the help.

I find P&S Bead Maker to be a bit streaky and not last that long. You also need the right type of towel to apply it with as some will spread/apply better than others. I use Carpro Reload instead and it works good for me...PPF or no PPF (Wife's Tesla is only partially PPF'd).

Thanks Mr. Eddie. Streaky is not fun.

Beadmaker is great. It can streak/fog if applied dry.
Best use is to use it as a drying aid, in my experience. I use it every time I wash the truck. Ill post a vid about that.

I use it regularly. It helps my wax last so much longer, several months longer. Very hydrophobic and enhances gloss. It really makes a difference on my black paint.

The two products you are considering are completely different. BeadMaker is polymer-based, Defender is SIO2 based. I've not used Defender, but have used several other SIO2 based sealants/protectants. I used a ton of BeadMaker when it first came out, and found it to be the slickest product on the market. Sadly, that's where it's virtues end....it does not last long and is a dust collector. I can almost guarantee that Defender will outlast it. Reach out to P&S for clarification....but I'd be shocked to find out its not safe for PPF

Thanks Briarpatch. I think Beadmaker is not going to work out the way I thought it would. I will experiment with Defender SI02 and see what happens. That is the best way to find out if something is a quality product is to test. But it gets expensive to do much testing. I should have done more searching and reading. I guess I was mesmerized by the P&S lady doing the detail with Beadmaker and topped with Defender. It is not fair for ladies to to sell products. LOL

Just out of curiosity....what are your expectations for Defender....as to longevity? I'm not really familiar with it...or any of the marketing behind it....so I'm not really sure what P&S is saying. Most of the spray sealants advertise 3-6 months protection. Jamie the Cleaner does a good YouTube video on the product after 4 months:

I would hope to get six months out of it. But you never know until you test. Watching the video you posted lead me to many more. After watching them, it is hard to know what to expect. LOL. At least testing is fun.

Jamie the Cleaner is a pretty straight shooter when it comes to products he tests. I could tell that Defender was breaking down after 4 months when I saw the opening shot of the beading on the hood. One thing I can tell you.....ignore most manufacturers claims about longevity. I have Gyeon MOHS ceramic on my truck.....it's supposed to last three years....it's completely gone on the hood after 2. Whatever the manufacturers claims are...I usually subtract 30 percent

Thanks Briarpatch, that is good info. I may use my old standbys on my wife's car and experiment on my truck. I know how they perform and the longevity of the products.

Maybe just use some ceramic coating advance spray, (after proper decon) and you can use bead maker, detail spray, CS3, etc as a drying aid.

Thanks T-Rex. Ceramic coating spray may be in my future.
