Does anyone know the part numbers for the two o-rings for the two lines on the drivers side and the part number for the rubber bushing on the passenger side?

the steering racks on Rock auto don’t seem to come with the o-rings or bushing. Thanks!

going to try to replace myself. Doesn’t seem too complicated. 2002 Tundra 4x4 with 4.7 engine.

Ok. I will continue to shop around for a Detroit one then. Thanks.

I just put in a Detroit Axle new rack this weekend and will update the post inserted by BMF4069 soon on the outcome. I did the new rack from DA and didn't need any O-Rings. I bled the system after having it all connected and I have no leaks. I did a urethane bushing set, but getting the bushings out from the new rack was a real challenge, but got it done.

Buy it directly from DA and google a promo code--I got like $25 off and free shipping. It got to Vegas in 2 days.

This should be your part based on your profile description:
2002 Toyota Tundra Power Steering Rack and Pinion (Brand New) (detroitaxle.com)

I also got an oem intermediate shaft which I am so glad that I did. Mine was deteriorated to the point it was like fabric. I also got OEM tie rod ends. Look on eBay from a good seller and you can save some decent money.

This is a decent deal on tie rods: Toyota Tundra 2000-2002 Sequoia 2001-2002 Outer Tie Rod Ends Genuine OE OEM | eBay

And this is what I got for intermediate: GENUINE OEM TOYOTA 4RUNNER TACOMA STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSY 45860-34020 | eBay

Happy to answer any questions you have since I just did it, but check my post "Guidance prep for steering rack replacement" since I only had one chance to get it done, I made sure I had all my ducks in a row.

does the DA rack come with the two small o-rings or the large bushing for the passenger side? I didn’t see it say anything in the description?

It did not come with the O-rings. They gave me a $10 credit after I complained.

it came with all of the bushings, but I knocked them out with ease and replaced them with the polyurethane ones I had previously purchased.

IIRC I just used a deep socket that was smaller than the opening and lightly tapped with a hammer. Didn't need to just beat it, just kept tapping to push it out

Dont forget to use appropriate grease if you use poly's to prevent squeaking

if you get a new one from Detroit axle, it has a small C at the base that attaches to steering to indicate the center. It is easy to miss.

They don’t come with the o-rings. They come with the lines cause they want you to replace the lines when you do a rack.

    That makes sense sorta

I believe Toyota quoted me over $900 for the pair if you go OEM, but I'm sure one of the dealers that sells online would give you about a 30% discount. In retrospect, I would've either done that since I saved so much money on the rack or at least bought new aftermarkets

Yeah, sorry I was a little short in my earlier posts. I was in a spot I couldn't type a lot. I've had the DA rack and I believe Moog TREs for 2 years now. I've put about 7500 miles on it since then with 2 somewhat serious offroad adventures. They held up very well and are still holding strong. I did the same as @Weagle and put in poly bushings. The Moog TREs will eventually be a weak point so they'll get replaced eventually. No leaks on mine but I guess the new rack overpowered the weak lines so they popped a hole in them when we were bleeding the rack. No leaks from the rack though after install. I got the Suosong lines from RA to replace them. No leaks 2 years later. I didn't have to deal with any O-rings so I'm pretty sure the lines came with them, and they stayed on the old lines when we replaced the rack.

Like Weagle said, there weren't any o-rings in the new rack, but it's my understanding those are part of the lines, not the rack, so when I took my lines off, they were still on there. I installed the same lines, bled the system and have had no leaks at all.

hi! so i just installed a bran new rack and pinion that i bought from detroit axle. everything went super smoothly until… just now when i turned her on and started steering left to right to get the new ATF flowin there is a leak. on the BRAN NEW steering rack. it seems to be coming from the input shaft right on that first seem below the intermediate shaft. has anyone else had this problem? am i missing something? is the new rack and pinion bad? wtf should i do?

    much appreciated

Oh, by the way, Detroit axle claims you have to do a bleed procedure on the new rack after you install it, or it will leak power steering fluid.
It's also filled with a dyed hydraulic fluid for their leak test so I think that will help get rid of that.
Did you follow this procedure? I suspect no, due to the fact that it's leaking. You likely have blown the shaft seal.

that's exactly what mine did. and like someone else said Detroit axle claims you have to do a special bleed procedure where you turn some valve, which I could never find anywhere on the Internet. Just the standard what most people do by turning the steering wheel lock to lock, etc.

And I tried replacing O-rings, too

I had so many things going on that I just gave AT-205 a shot. I just didn't have time to deal with Detroit axle and do a swap now it sounds like that would've been a waste of time

and if that didn't last, I could come back later since it has a 10 year warranty

The AT–205 did the trick for me. And it was leaking pretty badly at the same spot as yours where the line connects to the rack

That should get me by until I get new power steering lines and do another full flush. if it's leaking at that point i'll deal with Detroit axle at that time

That's weird. I just filled mine up and did the side to side turning to flush it and it's been fine so far.

I didn't follow any special bleeding procedure when I installed my rack from Detroit Axle, and I haven't had any leaks.

Also, I do think you're missing something. Mine came with a black rubber piece that went on top of the rack around where the steering shaft connects to the rack. Doubt it has anything to do with your leak, but it's an observation.

And that rack looks awfully raggedy. Doesn't look "bran new". Paint chipped, looks like painted over rust or dirt, and I noticed what you pointed out about the black rubber piece as well. I think QC at DA missed on this one...

I noticed that stuff too. It looks used. Maybe someone returned a unit and DA didn't check it.

When I did mine, I installed everything, filled the reservoir and turned the wheel back and forth several times. Then, I loosened the input lines, allowing most of the fluid to drain, then re-filling the reservoir and repeating the process. I have had zero leaks and its been six months. I would guess that the hydraulic fluid that is inside the unit when it arrives is a different consistency than the PS fluid and when mixed, it becomes a consistency that allows it to leak. Purely a guess and maybe the science behind that would prove me wrong, but it worked for me.
