6 in lift kit on a 2wd. Done by previous owner. Don't blame me.
So i have a crack at the top of the radiator, the plastic part. My question is, should I patch it up since its a crack on the plastic or replace the radiator? Do i go with OEM or put in an all aluminum one from Amazon? Need suggestions please.

    Is it leaking?

oem radiator is typically the better bang for buck.

Yes but only when the truck is running. Once I shut it off, it will drip for a bit but stops once it cools down. I'm not losing a lot of fluid.

I'm watching mine like a hawk, 2017 with ~36k. My 2016 Corolla with 35k just had the radiator split where the plastic and metal meet near the bottom on the corner with the return radiator hose bib.

The crack will likely expand. Temp fix would be epoxy...IMO

It's a common problem on. The land cruisers and GX 570 as well. Some crack and some don't. A lot have epoxied the area and just kept an eye on it with it lasting years, others it fails shortly after.

OEM is usually preferred unless a good companies all aluminum is used, Mishimoto makes a good one, not cheap but good.

I’ve done a few radiators and been annoyed by aftermarket quality. I usually use the OEM parts nowadays as they always fit.

OEM is Denso. Buy from Rock Auto and use our discount code. That’s what I did.

Another vote for the Mishimoto brand. Sort of depends on the condition of the rest of the truck and if you plan to keep it for a while though.

Summit got me a Denso radiator quick for my 4runner. Denso off Amazon showed up damaged so I wouldn't recommend buying through there.

I fixed one with JB Weld in my '04 Taco. I roughed up the crack with a wire wheel real good, and made a couple applications of JB to get it nice and thick.

The repair lasted for years, and a shit ton of miles. I traded in the truck at 350,000 with the repair still holding like a champ.

I went OEM, hard to believe but local stealership was cheaper than RockAuto without shipping. My original went at 250K thanks to my water pump exploding.
