Can you read any codes through the OBD port?

Check battery condition, verify alternator operation, visually check fuses and major grounds.

What do you mean by voltmeter not accurate? It is a mechanical gauge that reads the voltage directly off a wire coming into the back of the cluster.

First thing I would do is put a volt meter on your battery. Check for 12V+ when off and 14V+ when running. If you have both of those start looking at major fuses and ground wires.

Loose or dirty ground connections will make electronics systems do crazy things.

Ever find the fix? Same stuff happening to mine. Started with an alarm system that went berserk and then multiple electrical issues. Going in to an alarm doctor next week to see if they can get it back to factory wiring but I sure would like to use my truck today!
02 tundra no windows no AC (unacceptable in florida), no instrument cluster no radio. At first it wouldn’t even accelerate forward, but I found 2 A blown for EFI and ETCS that fixed that. Now it drives but all that other stuff wrong. Can’t find anymore bad fuses in or out. Maybe a bad ground somewhere? Is there specific ways/places to look for that?

Visual inspection of grounds is the primary method followed by using a DMM (digital multimeter) to verify near 0 ohm resistance.

We just had the same problem that you had. What did you find out was wrong with your vehicle?

I had all the exact same symptoms and it turned out to be the 15amp cigarette lighter fuse underneath the dash was blown. Wow I had three mechanics put their scanners on my truck and couldn’t figure nothing out. I guess I got lucky.

It’s really interesting how folks sign up to join when they have an issue, expect help, and then never follow-up with what was wrong.

Same issues. Tundra 02 4.7. Battery kept dying so Just replaced the alternator. Still no cluster, windows and bunch of other stuff. Checked all small fuses under dash and under hood. Don’t know how the check big fuses. About to start hunting grounds but I’d like to find this and offer it for everyone.
I’m not experienced w electrical systems but I have a multimeter. Is there a layman approach to testing like certain contact points or readings I should look out for? Advice appreciated
