    Hello all!

    I would like to know if anyone had installed a RAM cell phone mount to their drivers side grab bar/handle (A-pillar)? If anyone has done so, please share what you used? How was the install? Did you find the cell phone mount to be intrusive to your view or no?
    I have found the parts on RAMS website to do the modifications. However I need to check the actual screw size before moving forward. I look forward to hearing if anyone had utilized this set up.

    I have seen the ICS Mount and AC vent mount and other mounts on the forum. But never on the handle to left of wheel here.

    I’d personally stay away from this. Sounds like a potential projectile should that airbag deploy. Just my $.02

    I agree. I have seen suction cup mounts on the windshield to left of steering wheel but those are in front of airbag and A pillar.

    To my knowledge there is not a pillar air bag. I’ll have to double check this. The mount would be behind the steering wheel. So, it would not interfere with the steering wheel air bag deployment. The air vent and suction cup mounts I have had in the past. They for a lack of a better word suck! I haven’t had any they actually work and stay in place. We have an air vent cellphone holder in a Jeep Wrangler 4 door. That thing always moves and never in the direction needed.

    This is picture of the side of my truck that in considering installing it on. No airbag markings on the pillar. I’ll double check the owner’s manual to make sure.
    move seen this mod done on a Tacoma and it looked sturdy and nice.

    Yeah, I’d double-check to make sure there is no airbag there. I know for a fact that mine does have one. I believe all 3rd gens (‘14-‘20) do.

    @dittothat absolutely. I don’t want to mess with any safety features for sure. My truck is a Gen 2.

    @TemujinNomad
    The positioning for the mount I’m looking into is completely adjustable. It’s a ball mount. You set it to where you prefer it to be. If it was not, then I could absolutely see the possibility of interference. My steering wheel also sits lower than the top of the dash of the as well. (It Has a electronic steering wheel setting). For me, this would not be an issue. I could see that possibly being one for someone who has a higher sitting steering wheel or that likes it to sit higher.

    I just stuck a magnetic mount on the a-pillar, right below the grab handle, with double sided 3m tape. Works well for me.

    @TemujinNomad i considered a steely magnetic mount. However, my spouse also will be driving and doesn’t want to use that specifically. Due to this, I have to consider a cell phone mount/holder that works for the both of us. Lol
    The struggle is real!

    Does ICS or Rago fab dash mount work on a Gen 2?
