Thanks. Last question is it a pain to take in and out the plug all the time but if it helps prevent your truck from being stolen that is well worth it.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    the plug is damn easy.

    both in and out.

our Ops mgr had his truck stolen at home depot in east Houston.

we immediately put them on all of our vehicles.

I use mine EVERY time I park in the wild. because I hate walking!

And the question is, how much would one have to spend for this system?

Whatever this forum told me to do
    that's about right.

we got 'em ~$695 because we did numerous vehicles.

I had them installed on my previous Tundra and my wife's FJ before we moved to Maui in 2017. Violent crime is low in Hawaii, but property crime is high...especially stolen vehicles. The plug was super easy to push in and pull out. It just became another step in the routine. the Ravelco gave us every bit of confidence that are vehicles would not be stolen. I am now in Montana, and if I was worried about my truck being stolen here, I wouldn't hesitate to get one installed again. The gentlemen that installed our Ravelcos came to our home; we lived in Phoenix at the time.

IMO, the best anti-theft security you can invest in. They were between $750-$900 each...can't quite remember.

Pardon my ignorance but where do you take a stolen car on an island? :monocle:

I wouldn't know from personal experience. The general consensus is that they were "Chop Shopped". Many times, they are stolen just so someone could get from one side of the island to the other side. Apparently, Meth dealers don't like waiting around for their customers. The public transit system wasn't as convenient as other places.
