Rear cross traffic alert sensor location

Hey looking at this pic , does this vehicle have the convenience package with the rear cross traffic alert? This is a 2020. Those dots on the rear bumper, is that them?

No the dots are for the parking sensors. The BSM/RCTA is in the circled region but here in the red region :

 

So this does in fact have the conveinance lpackage since the parking sensors come with that?

 

If you have access to test drive the truck, you should see RCTA lit on the cluster gauge.

 

I couldn't answer that for you I don't know how the packages are speced. You can check when you turn the vehicle on one of the menu option will allow you to enable and disable BSM. Also the mirrors will have a symbol that lights up yellow. BSM goes through a diagnostic when you start the car.

 

on my 2016, cross traffic was part of the convenience package, which also included parking sensors.

 

Any chance bsm/rcta are prewired and can be added in the SR5?

There’s a lot of “it depends” in whether it is prewired. If you’ve got parking sonar, then yes, it should be prewired. But I’d also bet that it would already have BSM if it has parking sonar.
If it doesn’t have parking sonar, then for sure the bumper harness won’t be prewired. And a high likelihood the main frame wiring harness also won’t be. The interior - on an SR5 - not sure there.

 

Good write up on ass these. So I would say, I can live without these! Although it would be nice to have but I don’t need to go through this.
