Maybe the website, maybe theres a sticker on the axle. Neither is a guarantee. But if you floorboard it from a stop and one wheel spins, its open. If both wheels spin, its lsd. You'll need about 4 qts of 75w90, and if its lsd it'll take less, and theres an additive you add in (or but lsd oul with the additive pre-mixed).

Drive around to warm the axle up before draining, and fill until it starts to come back out of the fill hole.

LSD usually would have a sticker indicating it's LSD on the back of the pumpkin. See here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/hel...lip-differential-06-tundra.29557/#post-729734

But you should sign up for the Toyota Owners site linked there. And plug in your VIN, assign it to yourself. You can see there what options it came from the factory/port with, including LSD.

Also, if you haven't read it yet, check this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

    Check that timing belt!

Still worthwhile to manually check for limited slip. It was not uncommon (and not terribly expensive) to add the Kazuma TRD lsd unit to an open diff.

I'm gonna have to ask for a source on this one. I'm pretty sure they are all 75w90 but feel free to prove me wrong.

That isn’t always a guarantee, an open diff can spin both if traction is equal. That being said, Open diffs suck!
