I recently purchased a 2025 Tundra Limited with the TRD package, crew cab, and 6.5ft bed. When I first test drove the truck to raise the bottom cushion on the back seat to access the under-seat storage the tab on the side of the seat had to be pull first to permit the seat cushion to be raised. The cushion now does not lock/latch in place when lowered from the upright position and I'm being told by the Dealer that the cushion isn't supposed to lock/latch in place when lowered. This is my first Tundra/Toyota, so I have nothing to compare it to from Toyota but all the Fords, and GMCs I've had the back seat bottom cushion locked in place when both lowered and raised, I would think it would be mandatory that when the bottom cushion was lowered that it would lock or latch in place for safety reasons. Is the bottom cushion supposed to lock/latch when lowered? Thanks for the help WEB.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I'm surprised you haven't gotten a response to this question yet. Try posting it in the 3rd Gen forum. Not everyone monitors the New Intros forum.

That latch is only to lower the seat when you have it locked in the upright position. Both seats left and right raise by just lifting the seat. Maybe when you first got the truck you pulled the strap and lifted up thinking that was the way to raise it

Alex Thanks for your response, it seems that the lower cushion not latching into place would be a serious safety issue in an accident especially if someone was sitting in the back and the other section opened up in an accident (roll over especially) allowing everything fly out of the storage box.
