Hey guys, new here Has anyone had an issue with the rear vents not blowing any air out? It was super hot today so I didn’t check if the heater works but literally have no A/C on the back of my 2022 tundra platinum hybrid. Planning on calling dealership first thing in the morning…

There is a button the switch panel for the controls that shuts off the rear air, try that. Also are the vents open? Stupid question but worth asking

I did try that earlier an didn’t work, vents were open. Maybe I should unplug the battery and see if that resets something? ‍♂️

    Take it to the dealership.
Hopefully they will be able to replicate the issue.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.....

I have a platinum and that button is not on there. The button I have right there is to turn the air to outside air instead of recirculate. Weird.

With platinum, doesnt the rear have its own control switch & small control panel? On the rear of centre console? If so is there an on/off switch somewhere on it so rear passengers have control of their own a/c?

I also don't have that button. Interesting. I see you are hybrid though. Maybe it is related to that?

I bought my 21 2.5 gen used with 9100 miles …rear ac not blowing at all…took apart the center console only to find the plastic arms that adjust airflow were not connected and both vents were closed up. Prob just overlooked during assembly and the original owner was solo a lot. Spicy hot down here in SE NC…need that AC
    Hope you get it resolved

It was actually that button!! Kinda dumb for that button to exist imho, I’d think that being a higher trim the back would get its own zone control….anyway, thank you all for your help! Now have to take it back to the dealership for the SECOND recall ‍♂️

I have a very similar issue with my 2022 pro. The ventilation in the car is very minimal and disappointing, even in the front. I have noticed at times my rear seats from the bottom get very hot, as if heat is radiating up from underneath. I took it into the dealer after 2 separate people sat in the back and noticed and asked if there were seat warmers back there, which there isn’t.
I flipped up the seat and noticed the fuse boxes are under the seat and guessing this is a flaw that will get more noticed and I hope there is a recall on it.
When I took it into the dealer to do the axle recall I did asked them about it.. but they said it was fine.
    Time will tell.

Is this a button for all tundra trims or just the higher end ones? I need to check my sr5 sport to see if I have one

Good to know. My truck is at an airport lot waiting for me to go back to it haha. I have the same trim and wonder if our pick ups just automatically vent to the back.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason with the button on the trims. I have a limited OR and don't have it either.

The button that blocks off the rear seat vents is exclusive to hybrids. Many Toyotas are the same where only the hybrid has this button. I believe that it's because the hybrids have a somewhat different HVAC system and blocking the rear vents increases efficiency.

I’ve been wondering about this! I have a 22 platinum non hybrid and don’t have the button. Now it makes sense

Kind of old quote here - but I agree with you. Just took delivery of my Platinum Hybrid last Thursday (9/1). The A/C is disappointing. In my old 2013 Accord which was my daily before this, I would keep the auto set at 68 or 69 in the summer and it was ice cold and would cool down the cabin nicely. In the new Tundra, I find myself having to go down to 66 or 67. As I am typing this though, I am realizing I had nicely tinted windows on that. I am getting the Tundra tinted this week, so maybe that will make a difference. But overall I haven't been extremely impressed with the cooling. And it hasn't even been that hot here in Spokane. Like high 80s. So I would expect the auto set at 68 to cool off nicely...

ive seen a few threads on this that mention turning it out of eco mode seems to get the ac blowers running more 'normally'. haven't had a chance to try it out myself yet to confirm

I don’t think the heat is caused by the fuse boxes. It’s likely the hybrid battery which also takes up space under there.

Learned something new! I thought all had this button.

The weird thing to me is that it lights up green when the rear fan is OFF. You'd think the opposite would be true. Not sure why that is.

I have also noticed that it defaults off if nobody on the back seat. But on if there are. When I go to pickup my kids from school o have to turn it on since they get in without me turning the car off.
