REAR VIEW MIRROR ISSUE

Guy thanks for any help you offer. I just got my 24 a few days ago so I am still learning all the quirks of this beast. Whats the deal with this mirror. Every once in a while this warning showing me how to flip the mirror pops up. WHY? Is there a way to stop this?

 

Have you ever followed the diagram and pushed it?

 

Yes sir. It takes 2 flips then I am good to drive. But it will pop up again at some point. Like the next day. I have had to do this 3 times already.

 

Strange. Mine has that same camera icom in the corner but it doesn't have a slash through it. When you press it, the mirror switches to a digital screen yeah?

So basically, when you press that button, your mirror should turn to a whole screen of behind the truck. It looks like yours may be malfunctioning according to the manual.

 

Yep, I flip it and the error pops up again. I flip it one more time and the line goes away and it functions normally.

A typical day would be, I start the truck in the morning and drive 10mi to work. Park for 9-10hrs. Start it up and it has the issue. Flip it twice, all is well and then drive 10mi home. The next morning fire up the truck all is well, stop at dunks (shut off the truck), grab a coffee, fire it up and bam mirror issue. I can’t figure it out.

 

Looks like a dealer visit for sure.

 

It’s 38F outside. And parked up close to a building. Heat is def not the issue. Cold maybe! Up here in Ma

 

Mine has been to the dealer three times for it. 1st time they said it was a low battery and replaced it. That did nothing. 2nd time they said they would contact Toyota. 3rd time they said Toyota said it’s normal. So apparently it’s normal for the mirror to randomly not work.

 

Mine does it randomly at all temps.
