Well, I finally got around to installing the U748s that have been sitting in my garage.

The install went surprisingly smooth considering I did it without a helper (those things are freaking heavy)! Unfortunately, while doing the driver side the leaf rolled out of position and crushed the wheel speed sensor wire against the axle tube. I kept working and finished the job, but unfortunately my fears were confirmed when I started the truck up and was getting all of the typical brake, abs, pre-collision malfunction etc. warnings one would expect if they had damaged the wheel speed sensor wire.

Test drive confirmed brakes are functioning fine, so I'm pretty confident the wire is my issue. I pulled the codes and am getting C1333, C1201, and C1241. One step forward and two steps back I guess.

How much of a pain is it to replace these, and is there any calibration necessary after the fact? I'm trying to determine if I should attempt the install myself or just have the dealer do it.

    Thanks in advance!

It's a piece of cake. Crushed several of those myself.

It was! The clips at the wheel speed sensors were a pain to get unplugged though. They were pretty crusty and I was terrified I was going to break something trying to get them off.

Next time you can cut out the damaged part of the wire and, if there's enough slack, solder or butt them back together.

    I have codes: C1241, C1331 and C1465
    Is it the same problem?
