I had a horrible time finding information on doing this so hopefully this helps others out there that want to change their manual sliding rear window to a power window.
For starters oh how I wish Toyota would make their double cabs with the vertical power window!!! I need the longer bed so I have to go with the double cab to get it, unless of course I order a custom truck…
    Anyway;
I have the 2020 DC, 5.7, with TRD S-5, and found that the wiring is there for the switch so I assumed I had it for the power rear window motor…..and you know what happens when you assume….
When I removed the rear seat to access the back of the cab I found what I thought was plugs for the rear window in the driver’s side rear corner. Upon testing them, one plug a two pin plug, just stayed powered the entire time the truck is on. I never figured out what that was for. The other plug, I think it was a 6 pin? And I think there’s 6 wires at the dash switch…turns out that is something for the airbags because when I removed the cap and turned the truck on airbag warnings were popping up on the screen….so that eliminated that plug. So I put the wiring on the back burner for a minute while I proceed with swapping out the manual slider for a power slider. I worked in a glass shop 30 years ago when I was in high school and changed a few automotive windows so I was confident I had the skills to do my window…..1 hour in, I decided nope, and called a friend of a friend who does auto glass currently, met up with him and had the window swapped out in about 90 minutes.
So now back to the wiring issue…
I like to say thanks to Mark aka Mw4904 for his help and Casey aka RainMan_PNW for the thousands of pages of schematics he has uploaded to help others!
In the passenger side kick plate is a 12 pin connector that only had 10 wires coming out of it so I assumed this was the connector that mattered, that probably fed the rear window had it had the Limited model or above wiring harness which includes the power rear window. This time my assumption was correct! I was temporarily stumped on this because the two extra wires had no power to them. That’s when I found via Mark and Casey that there was two relays needed in the fuse box behind the battery. Once both relays were in I had power to open the window and power to close the window (one relay opens, one closes).
The wiring harness to keep it 100% oem is around $400, thats more than the rear window!!! So I opted to jump off the two wires at the 12 pin connector and run my own wire back to the rear window. Success!!!
    Besides the power rear window you will need;
The power window motor part #85710-0C110 (about $250)
    Motor bracket #69811-0C020 (about $45)
To plug into the motor I used oem plugs and wire, #82998-12790 ( these were about $40 each! This could be substituted for a two pin connector that fits the motor)
The two relays #90080-87025 (these are about $75 each, but you can get aftermarket for half that)
The switch itself #84810-0C120 (about $50) I would stick with this because it fits perfect and to keep the oem look
I did cave on the rear window and used aftermarket, which I regret. But for about $350 I had the rear window complete and the regulator. OEM window comes WITHOUT the actual sliding window and without the regulator. Initially I thought the oem window was about $350, but since then I have seen it cheaper plus my glass friend could have gotten it cheaper but also you need; $75 for the actual sliding window plus $42 for regulator plus $14 for insulator (rubber guide). So if I shopped around a little I could’ve gotten the oem rear window complete for what the aftermarket was.
    Pictures next!

Nice work! More pics por favor? I moved to Alaska from Mt. Pleasant in 2018 but if I still lived there, I’d offer to pay you and your friend to install one on my DC.

This is great! Had I know it was possible to add the to the DC I may have gotten that instead of the CM.

Great write up! Thank ok for this. I was wondering if this was possible and all my searches always led to threads about how a crew max window will not work in a DC...

I'd love the convenience of this. I know you listed some prices for oem vs aftermarket relays etc. How much $ all in are you?

This is a horizontal slide, not the vertical up and down. The crewmax vertical will not work.

After the glass man helped swap the manual for a power slider. This is an aftermarket window, looks like the Ford rear window another reason I wish I would’ve shopped around for the oem.

Still wouldn't be the same. The CM is the only way to have the whole window roll down.

Edit: I should have read further. OP says the same thing a little ways down from your comment.

This is definitely a great write up for the horizontal slide.

Could you show us some more photos on the slider? I'd like to see where the motor mounts and how the slider works.

Definitely something I'd be down to do in the future to get that window more functional from the drivers seat.

I know exactly what you meant lol. In my post I was simply trying to say that every time I searched to see if adding a horizontal power sliding window into my DC was possible, it always lead to threads about people inquiring about adding a vertical power sliding window into a DC.
Seems like this was a fair amount of work you did, looks professional and definitely a cool feature to have.

Does the whole back window get replaced or just the center manual slider?

From what I read, I gathered just the sliding portion. Makes sense.

You mean to tell me that I could’ve simply replaced just the middle window part and left the rest of the oem window in? Why didn’t I even look into this???

Side note….the aftermarket window has already failed, the little plastic piece that the window cable connects to broke and a section of cable is all wound up inside the regulator. It ruined my day when it happened. I have my cable routing in a perfect oval “track” so it wouldn’t bind or cause an issue. The man who helped me swap out the window gave me the heads up on that. I have the old oem window so I’m going to explore the idea that you just replace the middle window with one made for power sliding. I guess first will be checking part numbers, is the main window part number the same whether its power or manual sliding…

Another side note, I’m in the middle of moving, living in my camper and starting to build my own house so a lot going on. I will update when I can. I did the window swap when I did because it was a do it now… or a year from now, after everything I had coming my way.

I think it's the route I'm gonna take when I tackle it. Think about it, the only difference between the power slider and manual window is the latch. The middle piece is the only part of glass that moves too.

Good luck in your move. Moving sucks and I've done LOTS of it with my most recent one last year (family of 5). Keep us updated with what you end up doing window-wise.

I never saw this thread, OF COURSE I WANT THIS.....
Really interested in keeping the OEM window and replacing the slider.

I researched this when I bought my 2014 and the only aftermarket power rear slider was a C. R.Laurence .

Back then they said it didn't fit a 2014, but it looks like that has changed.
I also didn't want the entire window replaced.

From looking at the pic, I can't figure out how and where the motor is mounted. I can't even find pics on google.

I can't tell from your pic where it actually goes. I have a shop on the way to swap the glass out.

Hey would you happen to have the part number for the connector at the motor? I have the terminals, just not the connector housing.

Now that I think about it, if I could just snap my fingers and do it magically, I'd have a solid glass back window. The slider can't be reached without pulling over, stopping, exiting the vehicle, and then entering through the back door (insert punchline here) to access the thing. I may have ever used my slider three or four times, in a quarter million miles.

Back in the regular-cab days, I used the slider every day. Now it's just a really convenient way to break into the vehicle.

I had the power on my 2013 and used it all the time. Its so nice having power now. You can put a solid window in yours.
