I’ve noticed that when I’m parked and I roll the rear window up the truck puts out a single tone beep for about 10seconds. Any idea what this is? Is it just to let me know my window is up?

    Anybody else experience this?

I just had my truck in for the excessive wind noise and also mentioned the same issue. They said they checked 4 other new tundras and they all made the same noise. No other explanation, just that it is consistent across all the trucks. I noticed it when I was pulling out of my driveway, saying goodbye to my wife and dog out the back window and then rolled it up, quite loud and noticeable from inside and outside the truck.

The rear window is not equipped w/jam protection like the side windows and sunroof are, so my guess would be that it's a warning tone to let everyone know the window is closing and to keep clear to prevent injury.

It only does it when the window is at the end of travel. I noticed one day. My windows were up and I was playing with the back window. I could hear the slightest beep when the window was all the way up. I thought I was hearing things. Did it a couple times and realized what it was doing. Being so faint to me, was like when you get ringing in your ears. Then I tried to make it do it and it wouldn't.

I know it's not all the way up. Maybe 1up from lowest setting.

If it beeps when all the way up, can someone stick something in the way, like a rolled up towel, shoe, piece of foam etc and see if it beeps with an obstruction in the way, before all the way closed?
I'm curious if it's pressure sensitive and let's you know if something is in the way.

I have had my rear window down a couple of time and I didn’t hear any beeps when rolling it back up.

No beep for me either on rear window. There was another thread a week or two ago on this. Same thing there, some have it some don't.

Wonder if it’s a Canada requirement. Not sure where the OP is located though.

Only get a beep if leave window down after shutting truck off. Just let's you know a window is left open, same with sun roof.

Yeah I get those notifications on the dash with the open windows too but it's more of an "external" beep when closing the rear window right after parking and before any doors are opened.

Yes, both my son's and my truck do it, but only at low speeds or at a stop. If I roll it up while cruising down the road, it doesn't do it, but if I'm pulling into the driveway or already parked, it beeps. We can't figure it out either. Another Toyota quirk I guess.

My 2023 pro rear window does not ever beep so it’s either a setting that is turned off or I am more deaf than I thought.

I think you have to be in gear for it to beep.

I’ve never heard a beep while operating the rear window, but I have poor high frequency hearing.

On a side note, does anyone find it weird how they wired the rear window switch — push up to have window go down — pull down to have window go up.
    Seems backward to me…

Rear window switch operates exactly the same as the rest of them. It’s just facing down. Push to open and pull the close is how you should think about it.

It's to let you know to turn around and go back to the outfitter to get a new fishing rod to replace the one the window just chopped in two.

Now that I look at it in that context, it makes more sense. Thanks!
