    Hey all,

I'm looking to remove the plastic truck bed liner (OEM) and have a spray liner done. I am wondering what truck bed storage solutions you are using - rails and tie downs, bins, etc - that I could incorporate. Looking for a system that will stop items from sliding all over the place.

    Thanks in advance!

Depends on how much ‘stuff’ you need to store. You can use a tool box, swingcase (what I have) or even a canopy if you have a bunch of bigger tools.

I use Mac’s tracks. Manufactured in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho. Install a full length, or cut it into sections and distribute as needed between the bed floor and side rails. They also have stand-alone mounts, for when you want specific placement points.

The ones I use are these and these:

Then, depending on what you want to carry, how much it weighs, and what terrain and speed you’ll be driving, you may want to use something like this:

Interesting. Never heard of these and I’ve lived here forever. Also it’s Coeur D Alene ;)

I used a swing case in my 3rd gen for awhile, but that didn’t work for my use of the 1st gen (nothing but the pelican or similar stackable cases withstood fast off-road driving). Did you modify that swing case to fit your 1st gen, as... I think it was... @Casper421 did? Or are they now making swing cases for 1st gens?

Haha! I meant to check internet for the spelling. My sister lives up that way, but I can’t dedicate brain cells to remember the spelling. Then got sidetracked. Thanks!

I have one too. You don't have to modify anything. It mounts up just fine. It fits their double cab better than our access cabs but it will still work for us.

I usually go here for Track and track stuff

    https://www.uscargocontrol.com/shop/Enclosed-Trailer-Accessories/Airline-Straps-Hardware

But in my trucks I usually use Strut which I already have on hand to build a wall mounted system to keep stuff in place.

    Swing case here.
I have a JL Audio Stealthbox that took up most of my rear seat storage area in my DC.
I bought the swing case and it has everything in it I used to keep under the seat.
Also replaced the key lock with a combination lock, I don't need to carry around any more keys..

Mounted my bottle cap catcher over the hinge so it can't be easily pulled out..
Didn't want to put a lock on it..

I had to do a little modifying to make it work..

    Combi-Cam 7850R-L-Black MEI-7850R-L-Black FJM Security 7850R-L, 1 1/8, Black - Cabinet And Furniture Locks - Amazon.com

Amazon.com: Frank J. Martin 7850-DC Combi Cam Dust Cover: Automotive

The hole in the swing case cover was a little bigger than the cam in the lock I bought.
I also needed flat surfaces on the bottom for the 'pronged washer' to dig into.

I fabricated a 2 pieces (top and bottom) of plastic sheeting to install above and below the lock in the lid to prevent the lock from turning.
You can see it in the pics.

    Amazon.com: Install Bay 89-00-9031 ABS Plastic 12 X 12 X 1/8-Inch: Car Electronics

I used a Dremel to make the holes perfectly to the rounds and flats of the lock cam so that it would not turn when mounted.
I put 3M molding tape on the sheeting pieces to hold them in place.
Also the new lock has a pronged washer, that went into my sheeting, that holds the lock securely.
The lock will not rotate locked by hand like the OEM keyed lock did.

Would it turn with vise grips?
Probably, but so would the keyed lock.
99% of the time I have my Undercover Flex cover closed.
I needed a lock for the 1% I had it open or removed.

Just wanted you to know it wasn't a simple swap for me..

Appreciate it. I’ll see what I have available at home and modify accordingly
