I just received a pair of Recon smoked LED tail lights, part number 264288BK. They look awesome, and the fit and finish appear to be of high quality. They were advertised as "plug and play" installation. The problem I am having is that the supplied connectors on the LED tail lights does not appear to be compatible with my OEM Toyota wiring. Does anyone have experience with installing these on their Tundra? Or can anyone offer any advice as to why these don't seem to be working for me? I have a 2020 Crewmax for reference. Here's a few pics of what I'm dealing with...

These are the electrical connections attached to the new LED lights ^^^^^^^^^

Thanks in advance for any helpful input!

Damn, that’s no plug and play.

make your own adapter to fit

Cut off the new taillight connectors and splice / repin to correct one that fit OEM plugs

    send them back

hack away at them and splice connections

If it were me, sending back would be my only option.

Alright, so I got this figured out now!
I was missing the other half of the OEM wiring harness, luckily I kept my original tail lights.
The problem I was having was that I was switching from a different set of aftermarket tail lights (Winjet) to these Recons.
The Winjet's I had on there did not utilize the other half of the OEM wiring harness.
Long story short, the black connector that is attached to the Recon LED gets inserted into the half of the OEM harness that has an incandescent bulb in it.

Hey, since you’ve had both Rincon and Winjet, can you comment on likes and dislikes?

Looks nice! We'll work on my neighbor's new Tundra project after the installation of the new set of tires from 4Wheelonline plus the alignment. Tail light upgrade is on his mod list.

Well, I started with the Winjet and swapped them out for the Recons, so that should be some sort of indication which way I’m leaning. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the Winjet’s, for me, it was strictly preference. I never really liked the way the Winjet’s looked, I didn’t like the layout of the LED’s. It looks too futuristic for me, sorta reminded me of a Transformer toy. There is a pretty significant difference in price between the two, the Winjets cost roughly $225 and the Recons cost around $600-$700 depending on where you get them from.
