Can anyone confirm that the two bolts on the front end lower ball joint that face up have red thread locker on them?

I was told to put Red Loctite on them by another member here who knows what’s up. I promptly removed them one at a time installing red Loctite after I did my lift.

Yes they do from the factory. I did not reapply any after I installed my lift and no issues at all.

I’m removing them now and wondering if it’ll help to apply heat. I don’t have the strongest impact at home.

I’m unsure if it’s got Loctite from the factory. But a big ass breaker bar from Harbor freight did the trick for me. I bounced it a little bit. You can also add a cheater bar (piece of pipe) just be careful you don’t break your tool and hurt yourself.

I have a 1/2” drive breaker bar (what I should be using) but the one 22mm socket I have is 3/8”. Already broke one 3/8” ratchet during this installation.

Upon preparation for my install I loaded up on harbor freight stuff LOL. Impact half inch drive sockets, breaker bar etc.

They are pretty tight. I had to use about a 2 foot piece of pipe from a chain link fence rail to break them loose.

I used a box end wrench and another wrench for a cheater, reapplied red loctite.

I thought the only ones that high were the nuts with the alignment cams. For those I used the 1/2” drive breaker bar. No problem there.

That’s how I broke the 3/8” drive ratchet lol. I really just need a new set of sockets in 1/2” drive.

They say to use heat to remove the red locktite and it does make it easier. But, I usually just use a big wrench. Occasionally heat but not very often.

Heat near all the rubber bushings and plastic abs sensor is not a good idea.

Well maybe they’re not close enough for all that damage.

1/2" breaker and a tube extension, and put lock tight on for reinstall and I'd torque them to spec. Those two bolts hold the weight of the entire corner of the truck, so they're working as hard as the cam bolts.

Finally finished. The 1/2” drive sockets to go with my breaker bar solved all of my problems. It is now leveled.

Did you tighten the LCA cam bolts after you set it down? If not, loosen up and tighten with the weight on the ground. You don't want the bushings in a bind.
