One of the big differences between pre 2020 tundras and 20-21 tundras was the introduction of the remote connect with push to start. Since this is something that cannot be added later unlike the new navigation units, is remote connect software worth it and useful?

The few times I used it on my '19 Camry I decided it was not worth the subscription cost and left it expire at the end of the free trial. The Tundra free trial will not be renewed either once the free trial ends.

Did it send alerts when the doors were left unlocked and current gas tank , etc?

Yes, I get the app alert after each time I park the Tundra in the garage because it's unlocked.

I have it on two vehicles and it's well worth it for me. I remote start every day in the winter. Sometimes in the summer to cool it down before I get in it. Plus, if you've ever wondered; did I lock my truck or not?
With the remote connect it's very easy to check. Yes, it's another subscription. But for me the benefits are worth the cost.

I like having the remote start but if you have push button start you can use your fob to do the same thing. There is no annual charge for that. The one thing i do not like about the remote start is that you have to start your truck twice every time you use it. If you use the app to start your truck and get into your truck before it times out and put it in gear your truck will turn off. This makes you have to restart your truck. I would think that as long as your fob is in the truck your truck would stay running. There have been many times while going shopping in a grocery store and get an alert that i forgot to lock my doors, or i forgot something in my back seat. I can easily lock my doors from inside the store. If i need to know my gas level i can check it on my phone. I think it is worth having if you need it.

I put an aftermarket remote starter in my 16’ and I pay for the remote interactive app and for me it is well worth it.

I renewed my subscription and use it regularly for remote lock, unlock, and start.

I let mine run out. I wasn't a fan of it. It's convenient and all and I'd probably use it if it was free. I just don't remote start very often so I couldn't justify spending on the subscription for something I wouldn't really use much.

I only renew mine in the winter time. Roughly November-April. The truck cools down WAY faster than warming up. I don’t mind rolling the windows down in the summer time for 30sec until the ac cools down. Being able to remote start my truck from my desk and not having to scrape windows in the winter time is best.

I had every intention of letting mine expire, and then last minute, I think literally the night before it expired I renewed.

For me it was all about being able to remotely lock the truck and check that it's locked. Will I do it again next year? We'll see.

I did let Safety Connect expire though.

I have 4 sons, in and out of the truck all the time. I absolutely rely on the unlocked notifications, the remote start is iffy but it’s worth it to me.

I would love to know the numbers from Toyota. It is nice but costly. If the cost were less then I think more people would pay for it. And if I parked outside and used remote start then my ESG neighbor would call the environmentalists.

Remote Connect is pricier than I figured it would be.

I don’t use remote start and I hate seeing my gas tank is low (again) when I look at the app in the morning but I think I’m going to renew the Safety Connect portion of my subscription mainly due to the LoJack function along with keeping the SOS button in play… I don’t think that will get me the door lock notifications any longer (which is kinda cool)
