Hey y’all- I’ve got a new to me 2012. The guy placed some small fish eye mirrors on the heated side mirrors for what I would assume the last 10 years. I’d like to take them off but not at the cost of having a damaged heated mirror that I would have to replace. Anyone have any experience or advice if these things can be removed CLEANLY? Tell me if I should just learn to live with them.

If it is not OEM and for sure they are after market (meaning someone just glued them on there with whatever) I would heat the small mirror up with a hairdryer and then get some 40 to 80 pound braid fishing line and get it behind there and pull side to side. Then if nothing is damaged get a razor blade and get the rest of the glue whatever off? Be careful and good luck.:)

Car polish with take off some types of glue just by lightly rubbing it off.

The fishing line trick does work but the razor blade may leave fine scratches. I'd follow up with mineral spirits or goo gone or pure acetone if you are careful. Use those chemicals by applying with a brush letting time allowing it to loosen the adhesive. Use your fingers or thumb to gently roll off the softened adhesive.

Id considered the fishing line trick. I just wasn’t completely sure that because of the length of time or if the adhesive remover would or could damage the finish of the mirror. Thanks y’all!

Let me know how this goes because I have those too and also hate them. I just can't visually process that little mirror-in-a-mirror and never look at it.

I took mine off with the hair-dryer trick and then removed goop with wd-40 along with my plastic razor blade
