Hi all, looking to swap my 2022 OEM truck Battery for an AGM Odyssey as I did for my 4Runner and Sequoia. Not affiliated with the company, just a happy user of these batteries for a long time. I prefer these to Optima, personal decisions. What is the battery size code for our trucks (2022 TRD OR non-hybrid), any videos of battery removal/installation helpful. Thank you. This is my current battery

Why not just measure the exterior dimensions and see what size Odyssey battery will fit in that space with the correct terminal layout?

Thanks for answering Coaldragger! I always like to know the battery type for my trucks, for example my 4Runner is a Group 34R. I wasn’t able to determine this in my initial searches of the 22 Tundra, the OEM battery label doesn’t seem to list it (or else I’m not understanding it!).

I hear you, a battery without a clearly marked size is pretty infuriating and no internet searches I did found a ready answer.

Back in the day probably around 2010 I bought Diehard Platinum AGM made by Odyssey for my 2007 (both still going strong!). I measured the battery tray and clamp, and bought the biggest battery that would readily fit. Which means I picked up over 200 cold cranking amps over stock, and the battery still fit the tray. Chances are a slightly larger battery will probably fit if you need it to.

I have forgotten the size I bought, not that it would matter given the difference in generations.

One perk of the hybrids new battery location is tons of available space….. only downfall is does the hybrid need some sort of special battery in that you cannot replace it with some fancy big battery.

Looked into this a bit and the battery in your (and mine) truck is called an Idle Stop Start battery (ISS). Apparently they are constructed differently from a traditional flooded lead acid battery to take repeated start cycles and partial charges. Not sure that a non-ISS battery will hold up the same but time will tell I guess.

Try being me...I have a brand new Odyssey ODX-AGM31 sitting in the garage...Doubt I'll be able to put it to use.

Anyone in the market for a battery and group 31 box?
